Those det marks on the head look surprisingly deep- are they gonna come clean without taking too much material off? Sounds like this could be a quick turnaround, but you should stick some rods in cos you will end up chasing power further down the line...we all do!!

Sounds like worn synchro, and you've exposed the issue by not getting all the air out of the clutch line- the slave is really difficult to bleed properly unless you force bleed it with a pump of some description.
