Had a few overheating issues. tried thermostat, bleeding coolant etc. This. ^^ The most likely scenario is that you have a separate fault that has caused the car to overheat which in turn has caused the headgasket failure. Be sure to pressure test the coolant system again once the headgasket issue ...

No sure about fitment, nut the part no`s are differnent for N/A and turbo.

You dont need to drop the engine out to put a timing belt on.

Put the belt on and then turn it over by hand, if all is o.k start it up and do a compression check. :thumleft:

ST 165, 185 MR2 Rev 1 and 2 are all the same engines. Its the ST205 and MR2 Rev 3 that changes heads Sounds to me like you have the wrong head. Sorry Bo would have to disagree with you on that one, The Rev 1 head (definatly and I think) the ST165 has a spring tensioner not hydraulic so no bolt hole...
