Re: [Mk2] [NA] For anyone doubting the Apexi...
I can definitely recommend the Apexi + mongoose :thumleft: Mine sounded just like yours until i put an exhaust on.. the filter is still the most prominent noise (it being closer to you i guess), but the mongoose gave it a really nice meaty deep growl and added an extra dimension to how the car sound...

Re: [Mk2] [Generic] Having some trouble finding new rubber
Thanks for replies guys
I'll probably go for stretched side of things with 215/40 fronts and 235/40 rears. These seem a bit more commonly available anyway.
Should I be ok clearance-wise with these? Whats the maximum i could then lower it by?

[Mk2] [Generic] Having some trouble finding new rubber
Hi all, Being a bit of a tyre/wheel newbie i was wondering if anyone could throw some light on the subject for me! I've just bought some wheels with the following set up: rear - 17" 9j et38 / front - 17" 8j et35. I'm on standard suspension for the moment (no coilovers) Now i need to source...

Re: [Mk2] [NA] How many wheels can you fit in a mk2
Thanks for all the help guys, considering the size of the wheels and that they have rubber, it was going to be a bit hit or miss and i decided it was too risky so im getting them delivered just to be on the safe side!
you've probably just saved me a 4hour wasted trip!

Re: [Mk2] [NA] Engine tone change at 5500rpm
I used to love the sound of the ACIS kicking in with the induction kit and mongoose :rambo: Mongoose is next on my list :D got one waiting to be put on just have to get the rusted bolts off the current one  cant wait to hear how it sounds. What are the Sw20 3SGE engines like for heat in the e...

Re: [Mk2] [NA] How many wheels can you fit in a mk2
cool thanks,
the wheels are exactly the same sizes as yours allan, but with tyres.
do you think i could fit one in the passenger footwell and stack 2 (maybe 3?) on the passenger seat? if i secured them with the seatbelt and didnt brake to hard!

[Mk2] [NA] How many wheels can you fit in a mk2
Hi,
Just bought a set of alloys and hoping to pick them tomorrow, just wondering if they will all fit in my mr2!
I guess you could get 2 or 3 in the passenger side, then the other in the boot? or in where the spacer is?
Thanks

Re: [Mk2] [NA] Engine tone change at 5500rpm
Ah didn't spot that bit, yeah that explains it :thumleft: I have the 3SGE, so it must be the t-vis. I know what you mean, after fitting my apexi it does get slightly addictive! :D Not good for my fuel consumption though, now im driving with my foot down a lot more just to listen to the sound of my f...

Re: [Mk2] [NA] Engine tone change at 5500rpm
ah nice one
that makes some kind of abstract sense to me!
Although that article says it should be more of a smooth changeover, and not sudden as in my case.
Anyway, its nice to listen to and i've learned something too

[Mk2] [NA] Engine tone change at 5500rpm
Hi guys, I have to confess im no mechanic and have only very very basic knowledge of how engines work! so I just wondered what exactly causes this changeover. I know around 4krpm I start to get into my power band, but dead on 5.5k something kicks in, i get a bit more power and the engine really star...

Re: Probably the best two driving roads in the UK
This is more like it  I know some great driving roads round north Essex/Herts/Cambs: A507 from Baldock to Buntingford, then take the B1038 from Buntingford to Newport (Nr. Saffron Walden). A real gem. Twisties, straights, mostly smooth. http://maps.google.co.uk/maps?f=d&hl=en&geocode=...

Re: [Mk2] [NA] Mis-shaped roof? (T-bar)
Looks like previous crash damage to me :( The thought had crossed my mind, combined with the drivers arch liner being missing. I suppose theres no way to check this if it wasn't originally repaired through insurance? Even if it has, I still love the car, and after a year probably looking for more p...

Re: [Mk2] [NA] Mis-shaped roof? (T-bar)
Thanks for the help guys, really appreciate it. I'll definitely have a search around for that kit, the drivers panel does sit at an angle. Here's some more photos that show why I thought the roof was warped. Maybe its just me but it does look slightly taller on the drivers side? http://i287.photobuc...

[Mk2] [NA] Mis-shaped roof? (T-bar)
Hi guys, I'd appreciate any ideas on why the glass on my drivers door doesnt seem to sit flush with the rubber seal. Its like the roof is a bit higher on the drivers side or something.. You can see a little bit of a gap and you get some road noise but it doesnt leak at all. What kind of work would b...

Re: [All] [Generic] Lets show some more respect for those selling cars on IMOC...
Absolutely agree with the OP :thumleft: A person has the right to advertise their vehicle at whatever price they like, but also they shouldn't have to argue with people over the asking price. If people aren't actually interested in buying the car, or have absolutely no intention of even making an of...

Hi guys, It was me that bought the car! I'll post up a few pics up at the weekend as i'll be giving in a proper clean out and wax :) Anyway, i was looking for a car just like this, black, n/a good condition low miles. It was only 30 odd miles away from me so i jumped at the chance! The guy said he w...
