Low priority! I thought we, the public, have to do all the police work these days apart from bolloxing it up in court!

Re: Speaker cables

Mmm, cheers. Looking at the wiring diagram each speaker has different colour cabling just to confuse matters! I don't want to put the wrong size connector on the wrong cable. I know you say it shouldn't matter, I don't know. The wiring diagram doesn't seem to say what differentiates one colour from ...

Speaker cables

Hi, changing my speakers. The original speakers have one connector with a blue cable and a green cable. The new speakers have two connections - a thin spade and a thicker one. Am I right in thinking I have to put a connector on each cable for the new speaker and if so which colour goes with which si...

Re: T-bar seals leaking - now fixed!

There was an extensive photo thread on how to fix this properly by Jinxy, working on someone else's motor. I cannot see it on this site so it may be on one of the others. As I recall it involved stripping everything back and replacing the rusted (leaking) studs. Probably worth asking Jinxy.

Re: Ignition barrel

Yeah sorry, I'm not making myself clear. I replaced the door locks then went to replace the ignition barrel so they would all be on the one key. Took the 'original' barrel off the car and realised the difference between them - the locking pin on top. I have stuck the old one back in and I am using t...

Re: Ignition barrel

Er, no. One's on the car. By 'pin' I mean the thing you push in to remove it. The one on the car the pin is near the keyhole. The replacement it's the other end and obviously won't fit. The lock moves in the barrel so I was hoping I could remove and swap them. Took the circlip off but no joy. What i...

Ignition barrel

I have bought a lock set. The door locks were a straight swap. The ignition barrel however is different - the pin is at the other end! Is it possible to take the locking section out of the body so I can swap it over. I have taken the circlip off the bottom but it's not clear what that is actually ho...

Re: door handle

Cheers, I'm just wondering how the lock connects to the rest of the mech via that plastic clip. I don't want to undo it then find I can't fit it back together but I think I may just have to take the plunge. The metal rod clips in but then goes through the eye of the clip - is there something holding...

Re: door handle

Hi, I take it the last post here is the best method of changing the locks?

I'm currently looking at the BGB scratching my head.

Also, drivers window goes up and down rhythmically (not smoothly) but works fine nonetheless. Is this something easily sorted or best left alone.

Interesting article - cheers.
