Every time I've looked through the Mods forum its all MK2 in that place!
Can anyone tell me how good these are and what noticeable differences there are seeing as they're over a tenner a plug or do I just go for NGK platinum's for half the money
Cheers. Paul

Re: [Mk2] [Turbo] My First MR2
in terms of boost, no its not standard, i think its running at about 12 or 13 psi, which no doubt i shall feel when accelerating out of a corner, and is going to have to be soemthing to look out for  ive heard someone say to take it up an airfield (with plenty of space) and just drive it aro...

Re: "chased" by Volvo V70 - update V40 T4
Don't underestimate Volvo's! My old man had an ex police interceptor, a T5 on a P plate - it was a weapon! It may look like a box but its an Exocet Missle of a box! Had my first ride in a T5 back in the mid-90's doing 140mph up Hill (in the passenger seat which is worse as you have no control and s...

Re: Organising Meets? (Kent / SE Area)
You wanna do what? The A259 in summer?!?! Leave yourself a whle weekend for tha one. When the weather get good in can take 2 hrs to get from Dymchurch to Folkestone. The Kent Run, or Kent Race, as it came to be known tends to steeer clear of the 259 and winds round the back roads betw...

Re: Should I buy high mileage MR2?
Also remember the 4AGE is a non interference engine so even if the cambelt goes it will not damge anything HTH. This just proves how advanced the MK1 was mechanically for its time, in addition with the TVI-S system (first generation of variable valve timing)...just a shame they did not galvanise th...

Re: [Mk2] [Turbo] My First MR2
One good lesson I learnt with my first rear drive car is DON'T lift off when doing a fast bend, unless you want to do the merry-go-round and around and around....I was lucky as kept on the road and verge, but its lap of the gods stuff  and if you hit the trees, you and your car are the crumple...

Re: cams
Yes, this can be an expensive little sideline, However....my 1st MK1 T-Bar was setup as follows:- 1) New highlift cams from Kent Cams 2) Performance Pulleys and Cambelt Kit from Kent Cams 3) K&N Induction Kit 4) Adjustable Power Boost Valve 5) Lowered Springs / KYB Shocks 5) Janspeed Exhaust 6) ...

[Mk1] [NA] Irridium Spark Plugs
Been looking at getting these but at £50quid a set are they worth it?
Will I really notice anything extra than the hole in my wallet?
Or....should I just some platinum NGKs for half this price?

MK2's & MK'3 on Vinters Park, Maidstone
I've noticed a few of these where I live, there is a MK3 in Blue Mica and one in Silver (down near Snowdon Avenue), a couple of Red MK2's and a Black MK2 Import (off Commodore Road)....well if this is you then Hello and I'm probably the only person in this area who has a MK1.

Perhaps the manufacturer designed it on the cheap by using up and coming talent from the local blind school

Re: My RX7 V's MX5
Yeah, the MX5 can be on the quick side and is always a surprise to most. My mates Mrs had one a few years back and when having a drive I thought christ this thing is quick...mind you it weighs less than a bar of soap but my only critisim of it is that the steering felt a bit twitchy on the front end...

Re: [Mk1] [Generic] Not so Tasty MR2 Video !!
The Fiero was a serious rival to the MR2 in Merkinia back when it was launched. There are quite a few articles comparing the two in the various MR2 books. But American's have no class when it comes to driving a decent car...did you see just how dire the interior was on the Fiero? At least t...

Re: Should I buy high mileage MR2?
If the engines been properly maintained then these units are fairly bomb proof. However, I'd want to see receipts for a) New Clutch in the last 30k and b) Replacement Gearbox or Rebuild Work done at around 140k as thats the more likely areas for immediate failure with that mileage. If the rest of th...

[Mk1] [Generic] Not so Tasty MR2 Video !!
Here's one from our American Friends doing a review of the MK1 vs a Pontiac Fiero (what a shizel car to compare with, everyone knows the yanks can't build a decent sports car, even Jeremy Clarkson's proved that one!) The presenter is duller than Death and its that dire, you just have to laugh!! On t...

Thats what MR2 ownership is all about, unless you have a MK1 like me which is being stripped down for refurb.....it hurts so much I won't be driving it till next summer.
