I wouldn't hold your breath, I waited 5 months for a whole car that was meant to be ready in 3 weeks, can never get hold of the guy and when you do there always seems to be a problem, car broke then waited another 5 months to get it fixed. In the end gave up but I'm still waiting for some of the bit...

broken rev1 turbo
I'm in a very similar position as you, rev1 turbo with fooked engine, after much thought I'm going to spend the cash fixing it. I know i'll never make my money back but at least i will know the car is sound. I realise I could strip the car and sell all the parts and buy a different 2, but a few mont...

Both Peter and Myself have spoken, and we are working now to resolve the issues raised.
Hopefully things will get sorted over the next few weeks.
Thanks Steve

Re-reading my post's I should have mentioned that the oil filter was replaced before the replacement clutch was fitted, so anything as obvious as an ill fitting oil filter probably would have been noticed whilst fitting.

As I mentioned earlier there is no way to prove liability with regard to how the car came to be so short of oil, until I have enough spare cash to pay for an engineer to strip the engine I will have to wait.
As soon as I get this done I will post.

If the dash lights had been working properly as they should have been, I might have noticed the little red light telling me oil was getting low,
Until the car is stripped there is no way of knowing what cause the oil to run so low. Although there is no sign of any leakage from the new oil filter.

Club Tropicana, I agree to some extent with what you are saying, but in this case the car was not bought sold as seen, it was bought on the understanding that it was to be a fully restored car (within reason). If I'd paid £1000 for a rev 1 off some chump on fleabay, then your right I would have no c...

Mid April last year whilst Peter was fitting a Poly bush kit to my N/a, I happened to mention that I wanted to try and upgrade to a turbo, This is when peter told me about this car he was working on, It had been bought with a view to building into a monster, but unfortunately the prev owner had some...

I've tried to ring the seller again for the past couple of days, no joy getting in through again. So - seller Peter Giddens, Sbits. The car belonged to a friend of his. peter was due to do all the work to get the car into tip top condition. I understand Ollie's comments, but I thought I was buying o...

Don't forget this car was bought last year when prices were slightly better. and it was bought from a supposed reliable affiliate from this site, I was happy to pay over the odds as I thought I was buying a well restored car, new wheels, recon turbo and expert restoration.

Hi Guys Bought a Rev 1 turbo last year for £3000, was still being fixed up and was due to be finished within 30 days. paid deposit etc, 30 days came and went, 4 months late I eventually took delivery of car. Still some bits and bobs to be done. 1 day later exhaust starts blowing. 3 weeks later the c...

Re: [Mk2] [Turbo] Mr2 Turbo reliability
I had a rev3 n/a for a couple of years and had next to no probs, I then bought a rev 1 Turbo from an respected affiliate of this site for top dollar, and after various problems and 4 months, it completely died and I'm still waiting to get it fixed. probably needs new engine. Personally I wish i'd st...

Hi,
I know peter giddens from sbits hires in car cameras, I guess he will be able to advise you of best place to mount etc, might be better to hire on if it's only for occational use.

They know their stuff, not Mr2 specialists but are very knowledgeable with regard to Jap cars. I've used them for a couple of jobs and had a good job done at a reasonable price. A good friend of mine has had masses of work done on his Supra and it looks and runs amazingly. would definitely recomend ...
