Re: [Mk2] [Turbo] Twin Turbo/Twin Charging
Didn't Shmed buy Simon Hick's awesome 2.2 5S car? Yep :thumleft: Thought so. What ECU do you run? It's got a Syvecs S6 with Traction control. I'm hoping to enter TSS one day so am trying to keep within regs (hence no anti lag or nitrous). I'm also not looking for more top end power, I jus...

Re: [Mk2] [Turbo] Twin Turbo/Twin Charging
I was trying to find some info from the Borg Warner site as they seem to cite variable geometry turbos. The thing I keep finding online is that 'they' say, Tein turbo is less used because of modern turbo design. Trouble is, we don't all have modern turbos. So if they are available, then perhaps that...

Re: [Mk2] [Turbo] Twin Turbo/Twin Charging
I already have traction control (thankfully), and anti lag was considered, but not allowed in TSS. Deep down, I'm just a tinkerer. I like the idea of a sequential dog box... I also like the idea of twin charging... I don't have much budget though so think the exhaust change will suffice for now, but...

That said, I'd love to see it done.

Re: [Mk2] [Turbo] Twin Turbo/Twin Charging
And how would you put the power to the ground with a fast spool turbo? Would traction really be an issue? I'm not talking about generating loads of boost at low revs, just want to eliminate the turbo lag so I'm not waiting for the turbo to spool when taking corners in 3rd. Taking corners in 2nd is ...

Re: [Mk2] [Turbo] Twin Turbo/Twin Charging
Looks like compound charging is the same as the link I posted above, where one turbo boosts through the other. Nitrous isn't allowed in TSS so not an option. I think, before going too far into the rabbit hole, I need to get a quieter exhaust...my other drawing board plan is for a full sequential dog...

Re: [Mk2] [Turbo] Twin Turbo/Twin Charging
I do have a tendency to get carried away in the more complex solutions, when there is probably a far simpler one out there. Essentially, what I want to achieve is low end spool but retain the high end 'oompf'. One thing Blyton Park showed me is that the GT35 takes a bit too long to spool, however th...

[Mk2] [Turbo] Twin Turbo/Twin Charging
Probably a very short lived question, but what is the general consensus on twin charging or twin turbo's on a 5S-GTE? The internet suggests waste of time and money for minimal gain, but who believes what they read on the internet...... 8-[ From what I have gathered, people think that 4 pot's aren't ...

Re: Toyota Only Trackday - Blyton park - Saturday 19th July
Ha, yeah it wasn't a lot of fun! I got a bit of a shower on the A1 but the sun came out and I was dry most of the way. Until I came off the M40 into Oxford that is, when there was torrential rain, standing water everywhere, just horrible. Could hardly see a thing! :pale: And then to top it all off,...

The last hour of the day was the best Got a chance to really hammer it round in the completly dry track for first time Really good day Glad it dried out! I drove through a monsoon on the way back! Re: Toyota Only Trackday - Blyton park - Saturday 19th July
I'm gonna see if I can make some or get some made up. I'm basically just gonna draw up some plans from the existing ones. I'd be interested in some of these if you can get a job lot? I have no undertrays and would like a flat floor. I'd also like to add a rear diffuser (oh for hours of free time!!)

Re: Toyota Only Trackday - Blyton park - Saturday 19th July
I'm going to be driving up the M42/M6/M1 route on Friday mid afternoon. My first time trailering, so I want to leave plenty of time
Anyone is welcome to tag along, but I'll be driving slow, and I haven't been before so can't promise not to get lost.

[All] [Generic] Any electronics people able to help?
I had my Andorid tablet mounted in the dash, but unlike the iPad, when the battery dies, you need to physically turn the device on again. As I had fibreglassed the tablet to the dash, I had no access to the button. In trying to gain access to the button, I inadvertantly ground through the aforementi...
