Re: [Mk2] [Turbo] knocking from the rear
I also have the hollow wood sounding knocking coming from the rear. I've changed to Tein coil overs (retained the original top mounts), swapped drop links and the sound is still there as before  Before changing the shock i wondered if the rear top mounts could of expired but then thought. "...

Post Office Pub, Junct 38 of the M1 motorway.
Its like a stones throw from the roundabout, you can't miss it.
Apparently in the summer there are a lot of people there, many Superbikes also, though these are 2 quick for Mr2's

Re: [Mk2] [Turbo] Advice for tubby bhp increase
Uprated Head Gasket not needed (Rev 3 Onwards are metal). Engine management will be needed (Link G3 & Mapping). Mitsubishi TD06 20G Turbos can be picked much cheaper than Garrett GT series and aren't that much inferior. An adapter is required and a downpipe would be required plus oil lines etc. ...

Re: [All] [Generic] getting increasingly twitchy feet, maybe another project? new car?
I'm in a simular situation to you my friend. Reached the 300BHP figure and in total have spent weeks working on my car to get it to where I want (won't dribble on with the details). My car is just a toy to me, its not my daily drive. The next stage for more power is getting into the bigger money lea...

That'll be a Mongoose exhaust.
The XS down pipe isn't a problem though I'm not sure what you have as a mid-flexi pipe.
If its the stock Toyota unit I'm not sure, open to anyone else????

Re: [Mk2] [Turbo] high rpm tick over
Sounds to me like theres some pre-load on the throttle cable. In effect its like the throttle is on a slight amount.
The throttle cable should be slack until the throttle is pressed, i'd check this first.

Skip123,
Thumbs up to you for writing this little guide, unfortunately its an area where you just can't win. People are bound to have opinions on this and that, you don't need this and that.
All i wanted to say was "Hats off to you for creating this post"

I'll 2nd that, running the PWR CC myself and it is boot mounted.
Works brilliantly and I'm able to use the boot as i did before.

Re: [Mk2] [Turbo] Brake Master Cylinders
I'm in the market for a replacement master cylinder and i'm looking to upgrade. Mine is a Rev3 tubby with ABS and uses the larger 11/16ths diameter master cylinder. I've done some digging and apparently early supras and landcruisers use a 1inch master cylinder which is a straight swap. Being larger ...

Re: [Mk2] [Turbo] Tein Super Street fitted
Nice pics, I just wondered why you went for installing them with zero preload instead of the 1 inch the installation instructions recommend. It certainly sits lower than mine which has the standard 1 inch preload. Also, check the clearance between the inside of the front tyres to the spring of the s...

Re: [Mk2] [Turbo] Wheels & Suspension rubbing... the saga continues!
I recently installed a set of Tein SS Coilovers with standard Rev3 wheels and tyres (195/55/15 Front) (225/50/15 Rear). The inside wall of the front tyres is literally 3mm from the coil spring. I'm considering putting a spacer on, although not catching it is alarming to have it running sooo close. A...

Currently have HID set up on my Tubby though its only single beam, meaning when I select main beam its a normal pants halogen and doesn't appear to do anything after the HID dip beam. Don't get me wrong the HID's are bright but are no good when you want the beam pointing up (main beam) as this is wh...

Glad everything has been resolved without incident.
You must have one Strong Leg mate, brakes without servo require soooo much effort, its not funny.
Credit to you

Re: [Mk2] [Turbo] No Confidence
When the suspension is up to scratch on the MR2 they handle really well. A lot of it is down to driving style. Enter a bend hard without leaving a bit of power / trailing throttle on and they feel awful. Really nervous and twitchy. What a lot of people don't understand is keeping just a little bit o...
