Time, always time.... the car is fine running like a dream, but the v-band clamps and flanges took ages to arrive so its behind schedule!
Give it a week and it will be back on the road

Re: MR2 Turbo VS Honda Integra Type R???
As a DC5 owner till a few months ago - harry has seen the car.... The DC5 and DC2 chassis is far in advance of the MR2's. The MR2 turbo has more power and torque and will pull it in on the straights, but hey you wanna race in a straight line, there are plenty of 800hp+ turbo DC5's in the states go k...

Re: [Mk2] [Turbo] Which Cams to get?
Yeah that will be for 1 port. It depends, the GT3071 is 576cfm of air flow as its a 40lbs/min wheel if i remember. But you do have a LOT of lift there, much more than a standard off the shelf cam.... which are around the 10.5 mark.... but its good to see you haven't gone too mad on the duration :D S...

Re: [Mk2] [Turbo] Which Cams to get?
to say that displacement doesnt matter is a bit contradictary to everything you have said. 1.5litre formula one engines last one race lol, put in in an endurance race with a v8, v10, v12 NA supercar and see which one lasts the longest, I know where my money would be, I dont think the head is the mo...

Re: [Mk2] [Turbo] Which Cams to get?
Its a stock Rev2 head with custom cams. The only head "work" I've had is: Ceramic Coating applied To Combustion Chambers, Valve Faces & Piston Crowns Lubricating coating applied To Inlet Ports, Exhaust Ports & Valve Stems This is the flow chart for the head if anyone is interested...

Re: [Mk2] [Turbo] Which Cams to get?
But going back to the original question; Paul @ Kent Car Craft, your rev2 head will not be helping your cause when it comes to power. If i were you id send it off to have cams and headwork for your "couple of K" You don't need oversize valves, but an excellent port/polish and inlet flow ma...

Re: [Mk2] [Turbo] Which Cams to get?
An engine will only flow as much as the most restrictive part. Just my 2 cents. Twin rails for the win though, if I do say so myself  http://www.car13.net/images/project/stage2/68.jpg and a ram horn   http://www.car13.net/images/project/stage2/60.jpg Nice bit of kit you have th...

Re: [Mk2] [Turbo] Which Cams to get?
You must not be reading all of the information im giving you. I have a rear mounted RMR intake manifold, I think you under estimate the amount of air the head can flow in stock form, do you have pictures of how you ported your head? Most people ruin the flow of the head with inaccurate and inexperi...

Re: [Mk2] [Turbo] Which Cams to get?
salamanzer: I just made 470 flywheel hp on the stock exhuast manifold at 1.4 bar, I also have a completely stock head except for 272/264 int/exh cams normal lift. Ryan is maping it to 2.0bar next week. I do agree that a stainless manifold ceramicoated and wrapped would hold the heat well, but i thi...

Re: [Mk2] [Turbo] Which Cams to get?
The manifold has been looked at by quite a few people, and a second rail could be fitted BUT it wouldn't be ideal, so the idea was abandoned. I think if i go down the route of a second rail i might get another manifold made.... The injectors fitted should net me the power i want so a 2nd rail would ...

Re: [Mk2] [Turbo] Which Cams to get?
Jason: You have mentioned uprated exhaust manifold, do you have any evidence that a aftermarket manifold yeilds more power than the stock one? I say this because alot of people tend to fit them and see no noticable diffference over cars running similar setups with stock manifold and adaptor plates,...
