[Mk2] [NA] New quiet exhaust?

After 18 years my exhaust is on the way out. Annoyingly it's corroding away on the joint between the cat and the rear box - so I probably have to replace them both - if not now, then fairly soon. It'll definitely fail it's MOT at the end of the month as it is. I can get a Mongoose system no problem....

Re: [Mk2] [NA] Spark plug leads

Thanks. It's the plug end of the leads.
Many moons ago I used to do all my own servicing, but an old-style Mini was (a) easier (b) needed doing more often (c) I had less money and more time... I once took a head off a Micra to sort out it burning oil, but it's all a while ago.

[Mk2] [NA] Spark plug leads

... only had the car 15 years, and never done it  (professionally serviced) but I've got a wet-linked misfire. I thought I'd pull the plugs and have a look - but I can't get the damn leads off. What's the knack?

[Mk2] [NA] Where can I get an exhaust?

Std late model UK spec car, and the back box is on its way out (140,000 miles I suppose not bad!) - but I don't know where I can get a new one. Fensport (who aren't a million miles from me) think I may have to get one made. Suggestions anyone?

Re: You know you drive an MR2 when....

I can't beleive some of these posts. I drove 200 miles across the country yesterday in mine. I got in it, turned the key, 4 compressions then fire, exactly the same as it has been for the last 12 years I've owned it. I drove it, stopped twice at the far end, drove it back, and never even dreamed it ...

Unusual ice hazard

Yesterday, peeling off onto the westbound slip road. I was behind a truck that was carrying straight on, as it went past the beginning of the slip road I started to speed up to pass it. Then something caught my eye - two sheets of ice, about as big as my T-Tops, had come off the top of the truck and...

What snow?

... almost none down here. But the last time we had some heavy snow (and it took three hours to drive home, when it's normally 30 minutes) the MR2 was OK. My wife's shopping trolley car, OTOH, was great fun. The lack of power didn't matter any more, it's got decent ground clearance, skinny little wh...

Dunno about yours, but all ours have a dirty great PSU fan blowing hot air all over your fingers when you reach for the mains cable... or in most case two fans for two cables!

Like quite a few of us you may have received a PM that was subsequently deleted by the administrators due to spammage.

Re: Potential downtime - next 48 hours

Andy, all is working fine and has been for a long time ( more than 1 year ) . I've been puzzled by your post and have had a nose through the server logs. The only email that's been sent to you today left our server at 02:48:29 GMT, all looking OK - is this the message you meant? Could your ISP be f...

[Mk2] [NA] Umweltplakette - new sticker for parts of Germany

I've been thinking about going to Germany next yeat. It appears they have a new thing called an Umweltplakette (environment sticker) which is about 5 euros there (or about 30 online!) without which you can't enter certain cities. Does anyone know which kinds of MR" are allowed which kinds of st...

It's dead Jim...

... Just had my SW20 serviced, but there's a sad Mk1 sitting on the forecourt. Octagon in Bracknell. Apparently he went over a speed hump, and found out that there was significant rust in the front subframe - so if anyone wants some parts...

G Plate, blue, if that's of use.

Re: [All] [Generic] une mise à jour

What woke this topic up? GuiGuiMR2, you can't be French either :) There are no MR2s in France, I was over there last summer and all the cars were boring. (I did gather a crowd around mine though, when I left it with the roof off). Or perhaps that's just around Cognac? But in case you are... what *di...
