Re: [Mk2] [Turbo] Can I Start Up a Fund Trust???

Hows about this, if your not interested in helping this guy then don't comment, this is starting to get a bit harsh now imo. [-X Why is it harsh? People are keen enough to berate those who are happy not to work, but claim benefits off the state instead, so tell me what exactly is the difference? Th...

Re: [Mk2] [Turbo] Can I Start Up a Fund Trust???

No offence intended but am I the only one who feels uncomfortable about this. :-k No, you're not. Please don't take offence at the following, but it is only my opinion. Why would you beg for money on a car forum? Have you no shame to put yourself forward as a charity case? What about a bit of perso...

Re: [Mk2] [Turbo] starting to OVERHEAT....ideas? 110C! **PROBLEM KNOWN**

How can you say "may be breaking it", when you haven't given results for some of the most simple tests. I'd want results from a compression test, cylinder leakage test, and sniffer test before taking a single thing off the car. I've seen all sorts of things before when it comes to losing w...

Re: [Mk2] [Turbo] BOV for chavs?

BOV and DV is pretty much the same. They do the same job in a different way IIRC. Yes your fuel consumption will increase a bit with the vent to atmosphere valve. I have to say on my rev2 it's not "that" bad with the HKS on there. In comparison with the standard valve venting to atmospher...

Re: [Mk2] [Turbo] BOV for chavs?

the biggest reason for a BOV is to prevent the massive sudden peak of pressure before the throttle body (turbo to throttle body) when you lift off. It may only spike for a second but that second will blow your intercooler pipes off easily if your runnng anywhere around 1 bar of boost. Eh? Are you s...

Re: ouch! now with working link!

Lucky boy!

I went airborne over the back of two stationary karts in a Junior 100B race at Tilbury back in the day.

Didn't fair so well - shattered both arms (each broken in two places), cracked vetebrae, broken ribs, and internal bleeding.

[Mk2] [Turbo] Car wont start....... help required!

Right........... My Rev2 wont start, and I'm not sure why! Just posting in case someone points out something obvious. Car has been sat for a couple of months without even being turned over. I have changed the plugs and leads, and replaced the Greedy BOV with a standard one. Other than that, the car ...

Why would it be easy.

Over 100bhp per litre with no form of forced induction is actually quite difficult for a reliable road engine.

Re: [Mk2] [Turbo] Flutter dump valves?

It's not the dump valve chattering at all. It's the dump valve NOT opening at low boost, and the subsequent turbo/impeller stall. There is not such thing as wastegate chatter - it's an overused incorrect term. Just think of the principle of a wastegate penny chattering - that'd be some good boost co...

Re: [Mk2] [Turbo] Flutter dump valves?

The turbo never spins the opposite way. The little flutter you'll hear is when the d/v diaphragm is set hard enough that air bypasses, re-enters the turbo, and is cut by the still moving blades of the compressor. Otherwise known as turbo stall, turbo chatter, NOT wastegate chatter as some would mist...

Re: This is debatable, air induction kits

You really think it will cost you THAT many lost ponies on a turbo car? Air gets sucked in to a hot turbo, accelerated to like Mach2, jammed through an intercooler, and sucked in to a very fast moving engine. A couple of degrees difference on the intake temp into the turbo isn't going to make any re...

Yeah, maybe for Honda pro-kart stuff, but there are far better kart circuits out there for real karts. Buckmore Park being the perfect example.

Re: lost control this afternoon in the rain, gentle driving

Couple of things worthy of note just from the picture. Can't see too clearly, but it's looks like a surface change immediately after the roundabout. You also have a LOT of paint on the road surface which can be slippery when wet. Consider also that those tyres aren't up to much in wet weather. I had...

Horrendous. I'd be ashamed to be seen in it. However, no worse than the ridiculous boy racer wings on some of the cars in this thread  They're not to everyone's tastes I know, but functional none the less. You see, the cars with the "boy racer" wings on, really do have the go to ...

Awesome car, and reportedly aiming for 215mph within the confines of Brunters!

Re: what the hell?

Jealousy i believe is a lot to do with it. First of all most people who comment on my car think its MUCH more valuable than it is. They ask how i can afford it etc and they are very surprised by how cheap it is. Of course it isn't jealousy with everyone. I actually find more people with appreciatio...

Re: what the hell?

I see what you're saying, but to the untrained eye, a turbo looks no different than an n/a - to that sort, it's just an MR2. I can't see the jealousy thing at all though. My best mate had a T-bar n/a when we were 17, and non-car people just thought it was an MR2..... bearing in mind this was back in...
