Re: La Roux, In For the Kill, picture disc . . . . .
Hi there, the car belongs to Tony 'jinxy' Froude, I remember seeing it a week or so after he did the video. He is still about, and sells Mk1 MR2 parts as T and K MR2Mk1 spares, i had some stuff off him this week. I think he'd just had enough of the bitchiness on some forums. Now T & N I believe...

Re: My AW11 Fritzinger widebody. Some years of work in pictures
FWIW the fans and their shroud weigh about 10kg - and ( importantly for a car used for sprints ) are right up front so removing them will have a positive effect on the polar moment of inertia of the car, making it easier to change direction. Removing the rear bumper bar ( 7kg ) will have a similar e...

Remember the SC is clutched, and only engages when the engine is under heavy load i.e.
when accelerating or at high speed

Re: One more!
Most I ever got out of a tank was about 350 miles
( same size tank as NA
) driving like a granny, and the least was 65 miles on a trackday at Trac Mon
.
Averaged about 250 miles/tank in normal driving

Re: One more!
The top speedo is the one that came with my JDM import SC, with crappy paper stick on overlay.
The one in the panel below is a UK spec one I transplanted

Re: Battery drain/won't start when damp
Try cleaning all the engine earth connections, especially the big one that connects to the gearbox near the thermostat.
Corrosion on these
( at either end
) will affect the ability to start

Quick update while waiting for my tea to cook, before going out to watch the Group B demo and 2nd spectator stage at Norbreck. Yes, I plan to be at Fleetwood on Saturday morning. I hope the weather is better than last year - thanks to freezing drizzle I ended up with a thin sheet of ice on my back  I also plan to pop along to scrutineering at the Norbreck Castle Hotel on Friday afternoon - a good chance to look over t...

If the head isn't leaking leave it.
Waterpump is a good one to change though, as it's a PITA while the engine is in the car

Re: 4AGE to 4AGZE conversion
Link to wiring diagrams for smallport GZE ( AE92, but AE101 is virtually identical ) - I printed them out and taped them into one large diagram when doing my swap http://club4ag.com/tech-specs/4a-gze-japan-ae92101-ecu-pin-identification-now-including-wire-diagrams/ More info here on connecting the e...

Re: 4AGE to 4AGZE conversion
Physically it's pretty much a direct swap. The wiring however will depend on the source of the engine - MR2 bigport is just about plug&play, but if it's from a Corolla ( bigport or smallport depending on model - smallport came in about halfway through AE92 production ). The one in my Mk1A is fro...

Re: Tyres for standard teardrops
I'm not sure how insurance companies and VOSA view electronic speed limiters
( which can easily be disabled
) v.
the actual top speed of the vehicle when it comes to the speed rating of tyres fitted
