Re: [Mk2 Generic] Unichip Boost module Q's

How come, is it due to the Airbox (rubbish seals etc..) or the scoop (not enough area etc)? can you elaborate a bit please? I would have thought that it would have created a bit of pressure purely from the speed of air being forced in to it ? (admittedly it will have a greater effect at higher speed...

Re: R1 throttle bodies - TPS

I was looking around another forum and came across a company that specialise in bike carb / throttle body conversions. It looks like they're mainly fabrication boys for the manifolds etc. but they may be able to shed some light on it.

website is www.boggbros.co.uk

Re: wheel spacers for is200 wheels

I'm looking at getting a set of these wheels in the next couple of weeks. What nuts did you end up using? the Lexus ones?
I tried the MR2 ones but they stick out a mile.

Let us know how things go with the spacers.

Re: fuel prices - pipelinecard.org

Be a great idea if it ever got off the ground. I'm sure I'm not alone in having a gutsfull of various factors such as hurricanes, fuel depot blazes, unrest in the middle east, some Sheilk feeling a bit under the weather etc. etc. costing me a lot more to fill my tank every month. Also, is it just me...

rev.3 inlet cam

Anyone know if it's a straight forward replacement? Plus if anyone has done it - was it noticeable?

Is is higher lift / duration or both compared to the std. rev 1/2?

Cam upgrade

Going to be changing the headgasket and renewing the turbo on my rev.2 in the new year, just wondering if there is any gain to be had by fitting either a rev.3 inlet cam or both inlet & exhaust. the car will be used everyday (sometimes by the missus) so i don't want anything too hairy. also what...

turbo hoses

If these are still available I'd like a set in blue for a rev.2 on a std. I/C.

Let me know about payment.

Engine bay bling

Most of them look amazing, even the wilder colours you have to admire for the time and effort that's been put in. How do you get body colour matched paint in heat resistant type? Is it only Rogue that do it or can anyone make it up in a body shop etc? My car's off the road for the winter and I fancy...

Re: headgasket on my tubby why ???????

Sorry to hear about your problems. regarding a decent garage in the South Wales area - I was looking for a timing belt done on my turbo (didn't fancy messing around in s0d all space myself) and in the end I used D&J motors on the Colchester Avenue estate in cardiff, I think they charged about £1...

metal head gaskets

Sticking with the metal head gaskets topic for the rev1 / rev2 turbo, what's with the different thicknesses? I've seen 1.2mm / 1.4mm and 1.6mm. Are these just to get different compression ratios?
What should be the std. thickness?

JB.

Rev 3 head

I've seen a few rev.3 heads come up for sale from time to time but what would be the advantages of fitting one to a rev.2 car? Do they flow more? are the inlet paths less restrctive or what? I understand the newer engines have about 20bhp over the earlier ones so is the head a major source of this? ...

Re: Purchasing a Downpipe

Going back to the MOT / down pipe questions. I've heard that a 1993 rev2 GTS is exempt from the MOT emmissions and so should be OK. Before I fit the pipe is this true?
If so is there some official info on this - as I don't fancy arguing the toss with the big man in the MOT station?

Re: Dead Turbo!!!maybe

It seems that Adam and FonZe have had the same problems as me regarding the shot turbo. Must be something strange happening in South Wales, also it looks like FonZe was the lucky git that got the ct20b from Fonzy at 3S. apparently I was 10mins too late! Anyway let me know how you get on when it all ...
