Re: New wheels finally
They're actually classed as 'bronze' but to be honest there's only a hint of it. Too bronze would have looked tacky, gunmetal too dark.

Re: Locking wheel nuts
I didn't mate, it was online from drifrworks and I didn't think. Might give them a call this week. All the normal nuts were supplied but no locking ones.

Re: New wheels finally
Cheers guys. Really pleased with them and perfect offset at ET35. Thanks for all the previous advice.
Ste, its classed as bronze but its not a golden bronze. Just right without being overtly gold
Definitely needs lowered now though.

New wheels finally
Got my new Rotas on yesterday and, after being a bit dubious about the bronze with silver, I don't think I could have made a better choice. So glad I didn't go for the darker gunmetal. http://i591.photobucket.com/albums/ss355/davidhemingway1973/DSC00032.jpg http://i591.photobucket.com/albums/ss355/d...

Re: Locking wheel nuts
Going to get some Ultras. So is it the 60 degrees I need for an MR2? And what thread size?

Very smart mate. Just picked a spare set to do the same with. If you don't kind me asking what way do you use to remove the middle part and smooth it all down.
Looks great. If I didn't already have a set coming I'd bite your hand off.

Also, any recommendations? Just watched a Youtube video of some thief hammering a normal socket onto one and getting it off with ease

Locking wheel nuts
Just got my new alloys on today and I'm uber pleased with them. And now I'm thinking I need to safeguard them.
So, locking wheelnuts...Good deterrent or not worth the bother because if someone wants your wheels they're going to take them anyway?

My passenger sides leaks a bit in heavy rain but my drivers side seems to rattle inside the mechanism. That pi$$es me off even more!

Re: Tyre choices
I've had toyos for the last years and can't fault them. Currently running T1Rs 215-40-17 and T1 Sports 245-40-17. I had them on my roadster on 15" wheels and they were great on there too. There's probably better tyres by far but you're going to pay a lot more though.

Re: MR2 how much are they worth?
I'm on my fifth mr2 now and they're like any other car. You get what you pay for. I just paid 2400 for my rev5 N/A but shes in excellent condition with low miles. There's a massive difference between cars in term of condition but they are old cars now. Ironically though, I paid the same amount for m...

Show me your wheels!
I'd just decided on Rota GTRs only to be told by the Rotashop they're out of stock on ET35 and don't know when they're getting any more in. I'm sick of trawling the net for wheels on MR2s so I might as well ask here. 17's only if possible. Give me some ideas. You have to see some things to appreciat...

Re: Wheels Widths and ET. Expert advice needed.
I like that. Seems they don't do bronze at ET35 on a 7.5J for the fronts though.
Gunmetal is the only choice on ET35 7.5 and 9J on a 17". Just checked on Rotashop.

Look what I found:
http://www.mr2oc.co.uk/hwdphotos/upload ... e17b6c.jpg
7.5" and 9", all ET 35.
I think thats the gunmetal and it almost looks black. Shame to hide such a nice set of rims under such a dark colour. Tempted to go for bronze but undecided.

Great. I might go for those then. Just not sure whether to go for gunmetal or bronze. The gunmetal looks quite dark. Shame they don't do the silver GTRs in that size

Re: Wheels Widths and ET. Expert advice needed.
That's a what I was looking at for the rears mate, 9j at ET35 with the 7.5j on the front at ET35. From what I can gather though from the other posts, my 245 width tyres might not be wide enough for a 9j wheel. Is that right?
