Re: [Mk2] [NA] cambelt spring tensioner on import

OK I admit I haven't pushed on with this too fast but currently putting things back together after doing the HG. Following the 5S-FE guide pg EM40 is says 'pry puller as far to left as it will go then tighten bolt' .... my question is that after timing belt alignment is the bolt meant to be loosened...

[Mk2] [NA] cambelt spring tensioner on import

Hi Guys, I haven't see a guide for removing and fitting the spring type tensioner for a NA import. Anyone got a link to a relevant BGB? By using a mobile to take pictures all I've seen is a spring to the right of the tensioner. Being out of sight I'm guessing its a fun game releasing and installing ...

Re: [Mk2] [NA] power to radio but no sound

Doh, that wasn't a good start #-o OK, retested feeds at the end of the Kenwood adapter and power confirmed at both red and yellow terminals. So happy with that. Reset up original Kenwwod unit and the plugs from the PC9-411 adapter appeared to connect up OK. http://i1157.photobucket.com/albums/p581/r...

Re: [Mk2] [NA] power to radio but no sound

[Mk2] [NA] power to radio but no sound

Hi Guys, have been looking to sort out lack of sound from the radio. At hand a new Kenwood radio, new adaptor, and then new ISO adapter to audio loom. There's power to the unit and I've head some thumps from the amps. I've checked the radio and dome fuses and they look fine. I've checked the power f...

Re: [Mk2] [NA] Small plug near throttle body... where it go?

Doh muppet of the day... found out in my haste I'd added a hose to the sensor housing  So here's the plug on the sensor in the right place on the coolant manifold: http://i1157.photobucket.com/albums/p581/roadcrash_org/stupidplug3_zpsa8d8c192.jpg I had been looking around the distributor for a...

Re: [Mk2] [NA] Small plug near throttle body... where it go?

That plug has beaten me! Normally the wiring is idiot proof but I've tried to look all over and even use camera to access awkward bits and nothing is obvious. Would I be looking at a hard mounted socket or one hanging on a wire? Couldn't find or feel anything useful on the coolant manifold. As the e...

[Mk2] [NA] Small plug near throttle body... where it go?

Hi Guys

Sorry, I can't spot where this plug goes back on a NA auto? Its near the distributor and attached to the same cable that plugs into the base of the throttle body. Any pointers appreciated :)

Re: [Mk2] [Generic] Lift rating for equipment for mk2 engine swap

Thanks Madbass for that scary photo :) and hey thanks for sorting out the replacement Rev2 winglets earlier this year as apparently the damage repair was £15 short of being a write-off and the bodyshop did a great job on the rear quarter. Cheers

Re: [Mk2] [Generic] Lift rating for equipment for mk2 engine swap

That's all good as currently just stock springs and bumper. Might consider having the fronts on ramps just to provide that extra height. Height over rear to lift no problem. Just trying to tick off various things ahead of transplant :) Cheers

[Mk2] [Generic] Lift rating for equipment for mk2 engine swap

Hi Guys Just planning ahead.... For the purposes of lifting rear of car for engine extraction what would be the recommended minimum rating I should be looking at for block and chain or engine crane? With the engine released and on a trolley I'm guessing that just lifting the rear of the car will be ...
