Here is a pic of the knock sensor. Both had Toyota markings on them. The top one came off the car and the bottom one was a replacement. the exhaust tail pipes do tend to vibrate when the welds come off. which could be causing the noise. But not sure about it hitting the boot. My tail pipes used to hit the body and a new exhaust mount sorted it. Maybe your rubber mount has warn away. Don't think Toyota stock them anymore.
