Re: Worst ever MR2 idea....get a bucket ready before looking
OMG . I say that but a few months ago I was contemplating the idea of doing something simular as I was moving abroad, but as rightly mentioned I stood back and thought, I will look like a complete twot so I payed out more to save myself the humiliation of looking like a reject from a Mad Max ...

Re: help!! have i bought a dog of a turbo????
Sounds like the rocker cover they leak like buggers, the gasket is a two piece gasket, I changed my N/A gasket a few months ago cost is around 20-30 quid for the gasket.
Easy job to do. Should be a write up in the knowlage base, if not give me a shout

Re: can i buy a keyfob and set it up to work with my central locking?
From what I know but dont quote me on this, if its an aftermarket alarm then it should be possible to get a key fob replacement ie if its cobra, clifford etc, but as far as having the original alarm i believe the dealers no longer supply the key fobs as the cars are no longer in production so gettin...

Re: Photoshop request please (matt/satin black) But check out the pic attached!!!
I have painted my Grey MR a sort of half and half, top half original grey bottom satin black, I wasnt sure at first but now I love it, I know the lines are not exactly spot on ie I only painted th body kit and below the trim but I still think it gets the desired effect. As ive done it with satin you...

Re: [Mk2] [Turbo] My car broke down last night - advice needed :(
If only I had read the thread earlier Munnsy, as I read through the first thing that came into my head was FUSES, the only reason I say that is because my old Tubby popped a few and had exactly the same things going wrong, its amazing how a little blown fuse can completly criple a car oh well glad i...

Re: [Mk2] [NA] Idle control valve
ok checked for error code came up with 24 wich is the air temp sensor in the filter box, so just to be sure I reset the ecu, run the car and then checked again no error codes, car is now idling between 1000 rpm to 1200 better but not good enough. Now as Baker said it could be the IG timing as it doe...

Re: [Mk2] [NA] New exhaust, which one? and where to buy?
No mine was just the lower section, as if it was a direct replacement of the original exhaust ie the two to one section, no need for the manifold change, I did see that one this mornig on ebay looks like a good buy tho. Still looking for paperwork. Oh and the pic of my twins, sorry bit durty will be...

Re: [Mk2] [NA] New exhaust, which one? and where to buy?
I got the Jap speed back box, its awsome but its around £300 mark plus its quite loud. As for the down pipe, I had to replace mine last year and I got one from Fleebay, it was a full stainless one, but cant remember the company name sorry, will look through paperwork. Will take some pics of mine lat...

Re: [Mk2] [NA] Idle control valve
I forgot to mention as well as having the idling problem, I have a start up problem, when starting the car cold it takes a while before it hits the high idle, ie i have to rev it slightly before it picks up. Thus still leading to the thought of the ISC valve being duff

Cant see it being the alarm, as the car coughs and splutters, if the imobilisor was on it wont do anything bar alowing you to crank the engine over and not fire. But if you think it may be in conjunction with the alarm or need the wire diagrams for the rev2 tubby I got it, can send you a copy

Re: [Mk2] [NA] Idle control valve
Done the little screw on top of the throttle body was open a little so closed all the way clockwise brought the revs down 100 to 200 rpm or so but still around 1300 rpm, by the way it does jump to around 2000 rpm when cold and drops down once warm. Will try and take the ICV plug off tom to see if it...

[Mk2] [NA] Idle control valve
Hi all just wondering if anyone can help me out a bit, my other halfs MR is currently having a few probs with idle, was running at normal 800-900 rpm but it was up and down at times and occassionally droped so low as to almost stall, I decided to take the throttle body off and clean it as well as gi...

Re: [Mk2] [Turbo] smoke
To be honest mate the over fueling is probably the HKS Bov mine used to do it like mad plus fuel economy goes well out of the window, I would also agree with Hez could be a leak off the head somewhere maybe Head gasket or Rocker gasket as the block gets realy hot things tend to expand ever so slight...

Re: [Mk2] [Turbo] possible to adjust headlights??
Depends on what you mean by misaligned ie how far out, because if its the same as a mk2, there is a knob like device on each head light that can be srewed clockwise/antyclockwise to adgust the height, usually red in colour and just behind the headlight unit under the bonnet (maybe under a round cove...
