Re: janspeed db

TBH I think you will have problems at most venues with Janspeed, mongoose is a better bet. I'm lucky that anglesey has a 105db limit

That reminds me, I've got to go! \:D/

Re: discoloured interior door handles Mk1

I used AutoGlym Bumper Care, it brought the rear black strips on the rear quarter outside up beautifully, so I thought I might aswell use it on the inside handles, worked a treat :thumleft:

Weather here is pretty appalling, I had my wipers on full and I could still barely see this morning, hopefully the worst will pass over the next couple of days

Re: IMOC Trackday - Anglesey March 2006

If anyone here actually *lives* in Wales, you would know not to trust what any website/tv programme says, you look at the orientation of the sheep, and whether the cows are lying down or standing up! Surely the orientation of the sheep depends on the position of the nearest Welshmen? :whistle...

Re: I don't do night time driving (alternater wouldn't let me)

Have a word with crazylegs on this forum, he's always got a few Mk1s around. I picked mine up indirectly through him at a good rate, works much better than my original!

Re: Eeek, Gearbox problems....

The first litre took piggin ages, almost 40 minutes! however I shortened the stepdown pipe to 4-5 cm (was originally 20!). The second litre went in about 10 minutes, and the 1/2 litre took 5 (obviously!) I just thought eventually with my luck, Id shear the damn bolt off (bearing in mind I managed to...

Re: IMOC Trackday - Anglesey March 2006

hehe, just finished almost all the ticks in my boxes too, just drained and refilled the gearbox fluid (see thread in Mk1 club, that was fun!). Had an odd grinding which turned out to be 2 stuck sliding pins on a caliper, replaced the boots, pins lithium greased, now sorted! Braided lines, Brake flui...

Re: Eeek, Gearbox problems....

Just in case anyone else is lost, and cant find the filler location (the BGB shows it in the technical drawing, but I could visualise it), Its facing the front of the vehicle halfway up, and its a 24mm bolt http://www.mr2go.co.uk/images/gearbox/dcp_4064.jpg Me attempting to blowtorch it off (didnt w...

Re: Eeek, Gearbox problems....

Thanks for all the suggestions guys and gals. Managed to sort it. I've attached piccies and a mini how to below because I'm sure I wont be the last person to get in a sticky wicket on this one! Basically I used the top "Lock Bolt" on the shift fork assembly, just to the left of the thermos...

Re: Eeek, Gearbox problems....

No I havent, problem is I'm using a hex socket, not a flat type. Reading through the BGB it looks like I could go through either the speedo cable (could be messy) Or even this nut at the top near the battery its referred to as a "Lock Bolt" for holding the shift fork assembly. Whats buggin...
