Re: Which Glue?
As far as I'm aware, these aren't glued...the gaskets fit under the skirts which are in turn held on by the bolts...

Re: Best place for stock springs and dampers?
I had Apex springs with KYB GR-2's and I thought it was good - quite hard and more crashy over bumps than standard, but I liked it - felt like it was worth uprating!! I bought the springs from here and would highly recommend the service I received.. www.camskill.co.uk/products.php?plid=m5b0s2380p116...

Re: Going rate for Mk1 wheels?
Yes, I'm quite up on scrap prices at the moment - just had my central heating replaced and I kept all the old pipes, cylinder and rads. Spent an afternoon sorting and cleaning it all up ('clean' copper, aluminium "brazing"-which is brass fittings essentially and the steel radiators), got £...

Re: Going rate for Mk1 wheels?
Thanks for the feed back - can probably weigh them in at the local scrap metal dealers given the price of scrap metal these days, though it seems a shame as they're in decent nick (although not shiny).

Going rate for Mk1 wheels?
Following the sad departure of my beloved Mk1b, I find myself saddled with a set of 4 teardrops the new owner didn't want to take....what are these worth these days, i haven't a clue - They're in pretty good, unkerbed nick but could use some paint. 2 have reasonable tyres, 2 are tyreless...suggestio...

Re: Full respray???
I sprayed a car on my drive way with cellulose, and it was fine. I did spend about a month flatting and priming it though and was quite meticulous about panel wiping everything before applying paint. I made a 'booth' that I moved from panel to panel out of a large piece of cardboard and a plastic sh...

Re: Thermostat removal
When I took mine off the first time, it was a pain, but after I'd drilled out all the sheared bolts, retapped the threads and replaced the bolts with shiny new stainless ones covered in copper grease, it was never a problem after that! Worth considering, the plastic covers do a very competent job of...

Re: Thermostat removal
Rachet spanners are great, but you'd need a really expensive one to do this job or you wouldn't have the clearance. If I recall, there's barely enough room for a standard ring spanner...

I just did mine with a spanner..took a while as you can't turn it much, but patience wins eventually

Not quite the wheels you were after but similar...these are more available and probably cheaper!! You could always paint them if you were particular about the gold colour... www.alloywheels.com/search.asp?P_ID=2356 www.alloywheels.com/search.asp?P_ID=2070 www.alloywheels.com/search.asp?P_ID=2070 www...

Re: upper windscreen moulding
Hi fella, The part which you require needs to be fitted around the screen before it is bonded in. As you're probably not going to take the screen out for a silly bit of trim, just go with boddneys suggestion - get some generic edging strip, cut the edge of the 'T' off and stick it in with the same b...

Re: SC as a daily drive?
I used my Mk1b NA as a daily for 6 years. It wasn't unreliable per se, but 'something' always needed doing and that 'something' was usually expensive and/or time consuming and always necessary and at a massively inconvenient time. After rolling around in the snow doing lord knows what for the MOT, I...

Re: What are they worth?
I struggled to get £1500 for mine and it was a 70k late model t bar with new wheels/tyres/wings/bumper bar/arches/suspension/brakes, top end engine rebuild, leather interior, SS exhaust, new MOT and tax. Had a little bit of rust above the screen, but otherwise very good.

Re: Radio controlled AW11
If I could stick my tuppen'orth in..while accuracy is commendable, as a keen rc racer, I don't think the AW11 wedge shape lends itself to accurate representation on a touring car chassis. If you made it 100% accurate, it would not fit the posts, cover the central spine or have the wheel arches in th...

Re: 1990 Mk1b MR2 T-bar in white for sale
Yes, its very reasonable..I want it to go to a good home, its not perfect, but as you can probably testify from the SE meets, it is a pretty good one (the interiors back in it now!!). I also need it to go quite quickly as it only has a couple of weeks left covered under the temporary insurance polic...

Re: Sticking rear caliper
All the issues I've had with mine were due to the handbrake mechanism being seized or partially seized in the caliper. I sorted this by chucking on recon calipers from brakes international as i need the car for work, but one of the guys posted a really good guide in the knowledge base on stripping t...

Re: £200 induct kits v £100 'uns..
I know many disagree, but to me the noise is important...I love the sound of the induction roar right behind my ear and the bark from the stainless exhaust. Driving is a sensory experience and for some drivers is not neccessarily about extracting every last ounce from the efficiency of the setup, bu...
