2zz-ge engine with 1zz crank
I'm thinking about buying a mk3 MR2 but know I won't be happy with the power after owning a 180bhp mk1 supercharger then an Fto. want rwd economic fun again so fto needs to go and mk3 MR2 seems like my best option :P. Putting the 2zz-ge engine in seems an appealing idea. Will the 1zz crank fit right...

Re: Regular Essex Drive and Meet - 9th August 2010
Don't know yet. Don't think I will be this time. I'm missing a link rod due to it breaking  and also hate being back on my 14's. on the 16's I can keep up with normal mk2 n/a and turbos just fine but the 14's are horribly snappy when pushed. Also Need a new exhaust if I push the car in any gea...

Re: Regular Essex Drive and Meet - 9th August 2010
Was going to go but had other plans. Been to Maldon car show today though. Fair amount of stuff there - 959 Porsche, 308GTB Ferrari a few E-type Jags, Original GT40, right to Triumph spitfires, Mk1 MR2 :) (not mine though), 105e Ford Anglia, Mk1 Escort, A Tank, Z28 Camaro, Ford Gran Tourino, Dodge C...

Re: Suggestion for IMOC product
Yup defo interested if they can come with blue stitching at a reasonable price then order me some up :). though would it not be better to have the logo the other way around and have the mat length ways. otherwise it's surely just going to be moving around all the time, or is it just demo purpose tha...

Re: Engine Conversion Specialists - Any experiences??
If your thinking 3sge you might as well buy a 4AGZE which will fit straight in. Add an exhaust and a bigger crank pulley and you'll have a quicker car than if you spent more putting 3sge in.

Wow that looks amazing. going to be a lot of swearing involved when it comes to spark plug change by the looks of it. can you get to it from the cabin for belt change etc or have you welded a bulkhead in?

Re: Engine Conversion Specialists - Any experiences??
How bout rover V8. They're lighter than most 4 cylinder engine cos they're all aluminium and you get plenty of tunable grunt. Also i've measured it'll just fit . Some guy in america has put a north star V8 in a mk1 but I think rover would be better.

Oh yeah slder before switch would make more sense . It had been a long day . I originally had spades on the end of wires and put them in fuse box but decided to solder them a week later.

The three mounts on the gearbox are the same but the engine mount in front of the pulleys is wider on the 1b than the 1a.

This does mean however I do have some shafts that I can guarantee will fit. £20 and they're yours. I can post them and charge postage or If you can pick them up I liv...

Re: MK1 "Lights On" Reminder buzzer
I fitted a lights on buzzer to my 1a 4 years ago. Just get a buzzer from an electrical store to start with. Then find the fuse for sidelights in the driver footwell and solder one of the wires to the buzzer to the wire going to the back of the sidelight fuse. After that solder the other wire to the ...

Re: Regular Essex Drive and Meet - 9th August 2010
If my cars alive by then im ok for it. Got to custom make some gearbox mounts for my 2 then find someone with a welder to weld them, as well as change ALL of rear suspension due to driveshafts being in the way of things . Will do my best though. If I can't make it I hope it all goes ok.
