Re: [Mk2] [Turbo] Big End Bearings?

ok thanks, will have a little look at it the weekend. I really wasn't in the best of moods to look into it when it went clatter, well not without a 10lb lump hammer  I guess its easier to find a turbo than replace the engine. :D For once i will be glad its just the turbo, will be turbo number 4...

Re: [Mk2] [Turbo] Big End Bearings?

doh, he deleted the videos. I messaged him to see if it was the turbo and if he did ever find out what made the knocking noise etc. as part of his last post was "What I can't figure out is what was causing the horrible knocking - I wouldn't presume that a blown turbo could make those noises? An...

yeah, that's whats completely puzzling me. Bearings if gone are pretty much constant and worse when rev'ed.

Totally wierd

So I slowed right down and dipped clutch, clatter goes away, only on sort of just above driving miss daisy acceleration does the clatter co...

Re: Power steering issue (not a relay problem)

Get a set from ebay or someone stripping a car. Didn't cost me anything as I got them off a mate.

Take off steering wheel cowling, take off steering wheel, undo 4 screws, follow wires and unplug them, remove, fit new ones. simple job.

Re: Power steering issue (not a relay problem)

i had PS issue, it wasn't the relay or normal things to look for. It was the indicator stalks. There is a sensor in them that sends signal to PS. Replaced them and was fine again.

Re: rev1 turbo lump into a rev1 na. jdm. Help required please.

In 20 years i have yet to swap the kickwell loom on any turbo conversion, just repin the engine harness to suit, far less likelyhood of other issues occuring. Also you can simply use the NA gear cables with the addition of a simple 12mm spacer on the gearbox cable bracket, no need to buy turbo cabl...

Re: rev1 turbo lump into a rev1 na. jdm. Help required please.

Yes that's the one. change it for a REV1 turbo. Get hold of the gear linkage cables before you put the engine in. So much easier to change when engines out....... i found out the hard way LOL

You have the turbo drive shafts, rear hubs and dash clocks?

me think pbmr2 isn't long for this world. He knows the car and the road well so i can do triple figures at the apex. Ummmmm now formula one drivers know their cars and know the tracks so how come off the track or plant themselves into the barriers? :-k :-k :-k :-k I'm guessing they do it on purpose ...

Re: Adrian Flux don't have a clue!

After being with them for 5yrs i moved away from them. Every year it went up but £60-£100 via renewal email. Phoned them and they lowered it to same as previous year. But this year even a comparison website blew them out of the water. Just ask them where they can find one with similar specs for £350...
