Re: [Mk2] [Turbo] Gearbox/driveshaft problem
I've just had a call from the garage. They said it's the driveshaft joint that fits in the middle. Toyota have quoted £350 plus VAT  . They are going to phone round and try and get a better price. I bloody well hope they can. That's a ridiculous price. The other option is finding someone brea...

[Mk2] [Turbo] Gearbox/driveshaft problem
My car broke down tonight and had to be towed home. Over the last couple of days I'd noticed when pulling away there was a slight jerkiness and a knocking noise from the rear. Anyway, tonight I was pulling away fairly briskly when I heard a loud crunch and suddenly lost all power to the wheels. The ...

Stock suspension
My rev 3 turbo currently has cusco coilovers fitted but I find them to be too harsh for normal road use with all the potholes around. Been considering selling the car but I'd like to keep it ideally so was thinking of putting stock suspension on and see how it feels. Just a few questions: Is stock s...

Re: The '2' has to go
This is getting complicated. Lol. My import has a dial for raising and lowering the bottom part and a twist stick for the lumbar support. There is also another dial which adjusts the side bolsters inwards and outwards.

Re: The '2' has to go
I wondered what that dial did. Lol.
Just out of interest, what angle do people set their seats at? I have mine set at about 130 degrees so I tend to sit back very slightly.

Re: The '2' has to go
Erm, I think Steve was suggesting it was offset slightly to the left (towards the centre of the car). Can't say I've ever noticed it myself.

Re: The '2' has to go
I've been analysing the driving position today as well as my posture. I know that a big part of the problem is that I have cusco coilovers which are known to give a harsh ride. This probably affects the whole back region. I'm going to see if the shocks can be adjusted to give a softer ride. Replacin...

Re: The '2' has to go
I think I'll be moving away from the MR2, for now anyway as I don't want to cause further back problems. The main cars that appeal are Civic Type R or Astra GSI turbo. I know it won't be the same as the '2' but either should still provide some fun.

The '2' has to go
I think after 4 years of MR2 ownership I've finally decided I'm going to sell up and go for something different :( . The main reasons being petrol/insurance costs, winter driving and the most important of all, the fact it's been causing me an aching back recently. I've spent the last few days drivin...

Re: Light snow
I must sound like a real wimp but I've worked hard to keep the car in good nick and want to keep it like that.
You have a point though, there must be a fair few RWD cars out there. Saw plenty of BMW's and MX5's out today and they weren't exactly crawling along.

Light snow
Just wondering whether people have had any snow and if they've ventured out in their 2. I phoned work to tell them I couldn't get in as our roads were covered in 2 inches of snow. I did actually manage to get there later in the morning when it started to thaw but I borrowed my mum's Beetle to be on ...

Re: PC Racing games?
Ok I'll have a look at those. Just had a little browse on the Game store. There's one called Race Driver:GRID which looks pretty good. Outrun 2006 also has a good review. Not a big fan of the NFS series.

PC Racing games?
Just wondering if there are any good racing games out currently for the PC? Is there an F1 game available?
Cheers.

Re: PC Gamers
Hmm okay. I may spend a bit more and go for a higher PSU and better graphics card then. I didn't know Vista 32-bit only allows up to 3GB RAM.
Of course the other option is to just buy a PS3 or 360 for gaming. Oh decisions decisions .

Hmm. It does sound like it could be the turbo. If it is I don't think it's a massive job to change. Maybe 2-3 hours labour at the most.

PC Gamers
My current PC is about 5 years old and struggles to run a lot of the latest games so I've decided I'm going to upgrade to a whole new system with a nice large TFT monitor. I will be using it for a mix of internet use and games including online gaming (Crysis, Call of Duty 5, PES 2009 etc). I know I ...

Re: Steering wobble and excess knock??
I don't suppose you've had new brake pads or discs fitted recently? I find that can cause a bit of steering wobble for a while until they bed in. Not sure why though .
