Re: [Mk2] [Turbo] 5fse crank 5sgte conversion
Thanks, Ash, I was also worried about it buckling or going out of true when it gets machined. 4mm is a lot to remove from each big end journal. Androo007, Yanks eh! I only need 450 max lol. My dilema at the moment is do I build a full 5sgte or use the 5s block and 3s crank to make a big bore 3s as t...

[Mk2] [Turbo] 5fse crank 5sgte conversion
For those that know or have tried and tested,
What is the rev limit of a 5sfe crank when the big ends are turned down for 3 sgte rods?
What material is the 5sfe crank made from?
Ta

Re: PFC Fault code finding
Thanks so far, The proplem I have is the loom was modified from Rev 1 to rev 3 PFC with speed density and std rev 1 sensors whilst at mapping. I dont have a PFC hand controller. Does anyone have a rev 3 PFC hand controller in the Kent area to do a test? The issue I'm having is that the power tails o...

If you have uprated springs and std dampers the car will bounce or re-bound more. Upgrade your dampers.

Nathan,
They must be the pistons discussed in our PM's I thought you had mispelt CP for a minute!
I lightened my Tubby shell far more on my Ford RS200 replica build especially so at the rear.

Re: Ben's 5S-GTE Build
I relocated my oil filter with mocal parts, the filter hsg (which takes a large Ford pinto SOHC std filter) sits on the bulkhead.
Your build looks very neat, I am starting a 5S build with a 99+ block.
Can I assume yours is complete now?

Re: [Mk2] [Turbo] What clutch for 450 bhp
I fitted an ACT cover rated at 450lbs/ft with a non ACT spring paddle, all on an ally flywheel. little bit grabby on take up as to be expected but no slipping at all. Used this combo for 3 odd years with no change in components.

Re: BHP Show 5th May Lydden
No not that - it also wasn't at Lydden. I meant this one which is a proper replica based on a Mk2 turbo - its on the left next to a genuine RS200. https://scontent-lhr.xx.fbcdn.net/hphotos-xaf1/v/t1.0-9/q83/p180x540/11150574_820550004690251_41786385902605637_n.jpg?oh=4baa774dfbe0527a9697a01544eaa401...

Re: [Mk2] [Turbo] Replacing stock CT20
From ct26 to ct20b, if I 've understood you properly, there is a bracket under the turbo which also bolts to the block.
shine a bright torch up there from under the car.

Re: [Mk2] [Turbo] CT20B Turbo on a Rev1 Turbo
If you are using a rev 3 turbo on a rev 1 or rev 2 block you will have to retain the oil and water feed pipe from the ct26, dont rip the old unit off and destroy those pipes! The ct26 also has a block to turbo support bkt, bolt that to the block but it may no longer bolt under the turbo. Also use a ...

See your point but I want a 4 pot.
I have enough stuff to build a few and like the way the 3sgte performs with tuning.

[All] [Generic] inline 4 layout
I am looking into fitting a 3sgte rev 3 tubby engine into an "in line" layout on an old rwd car.
I was wondering which "in line" sump from another Toyota would fit a 3sgte, along with a gearbox strong enough to take 400bhp.
Thanks

Sounds interesting, what are you building or is the MR2 clip going into a different body shell?
