turbo

The support bkt also has a bolt to the turbo as well as the 2 to the block.

As said above a little tap may do the trick.

[Mk2] [Turbo] mr2 turbo STD RIDE HEIGHT measurements

Can someone please go and measure the ride height of their turbo. Please take the measurment from the front tow eye to the ground and the rear crossmember in the middle to the ground. I would prefer the measurment of a std turbo Rev 2 onwards, however if you have a known lowered springs set fitted i...

Reverse light switch.

The reverse light switch went on mine too,

Part Co may also hold them.

The switches dont cost much at all......

But its just a so & so to get too on top of the gear box.

camber

no pics have appeared on your post. You can adjust the rear camber with camber bolts or enlarge the top mount hole by filing towards the outside edge to gain pos and inside for neg camber (bottom clamp bkt). This will allow the hub to swing in or out. Use large washers to ensure the entile hole is c...

boost

I put 3mm blobbs of weld on mine - 3 or 4 equally spaced around the tube. Always dry fit after wiping inside of hose with suitable cleaner. I also retighten the clips after an hour or so and they normally tighten up some more. Oil in the sytem and engine flex is also a major factor. The front engine...

gtChris

Dealt with Chris a couple of times now, no probs at all, quick delivery times, genuine interest in his work and very helpful.

I just fitted one of his clutch kits - a six paddle ceramic driven plate and new genuine oe cover, its a very good combination & works great.

more stuff

If you use a mechanics ratchet gun, or a windy gun on a low setting, the piston just may turn a tad but only briefly, the spring would not turn unless it is a shorter than std. Springs are held in by their stops. If the car is on all 4 wheels nothing should be turning apart from the nut. However, if...

The first thing to do is check and tighten the strut top mounting bolt. Then the mounting plate (x4 nuts). Check your strut pinch bolts at the bottom of the strut (x2), then droplinks for knocking, splits, or being loose. Maybe sounds silly but is the road wheel tight, especially if you have hub ada...

Another cheap fix without using a proper extractor is to:

Drill as mentioned above, then knock in the tang of a file (the bit inside the handle) and screw it out.

I have some Italian 17" alloys from a Celica 5x100. I had to elongate the wheel bolt holes on a milling maching to make them 5x114.3 then make hub adaptors to fit both into the wheel center and into the hub spacers to make things run hubcentric. I also used large flat washers for the wheel fixi...

Re: [Mk2] [Turbo] ABS warning light

Everything tried in all combinations the only time that I got the ABS to flash was with the grey relay removed, then it gave a 23 followed by 5 code. Code 23 is rear brake sensor open circuit. Code 5 probably 50 was open circuit. Like I said this was the only way to make any ABS light flash, I would...

Re: [Mk2] [Turbo] ABS warning light

Did the test E1 to Tc bridge and the P/S dash light flashed constantly, The ABS light just stayed on.

I now understand that P/S constant flashing means "full working order"

But suspect the ABS ecu to be faulty, will try and check relay voltages next.

Thanks Johnny C,

Where is the diagnostic port, Mr2's are only recent to me! And seem too be too reliable until this happened.
