Re: Spring Rated
"they supply both 2.25" and 2.5" springs plus assistor springs" 2.25" is 57mm & 2.5" is almost 65mm, the Teins need 70mm inside dia on the front. Helper springs compress down to about 20mm and are only needed with very short main spring sets to stop the main spring ...

Unfortunately TEIN springs are needed for their coilovers because the shock body has been made wider than most other company's. The std 2 1/4" wont fit 70 mm are needed for the front. There are many softer springs available for about £80 each. The TEIN website has all the listings. Be careful a...

I couldnt find any so made my own using the spacer which got bored out then fitted with my own centering ring.
This fitted into the center of the wheel and into the spacer, then onto the hub.

TEIN UK will not refurb coilovers unless they were purchased new in UK. 3 official dealers were keen to tell me this when I asked about buying replacement springs. Possibly hoping I would have to buy new coilovers from them? Infact TEIN HQ uk were not very helpful with answering any technical questi...

Peugeot 205 Rallye arches are just like those in your photo and bolt on. Transit connect are a bit crude but could work. Land rover 90/110 plastic arches could be fitted easily enough. Rally design sell Escort Mk1 bubble and Mk2 flat extension rally arches made from ally, they would also fit. Hope t...

struts
Why dont you ask Gazzard (GAZ) to do a Coilover group buy. They could do a fast road set up and they will last 10 of years longer than the TEIN painted struts due to anodised bodies. The GAZ sets I used on other cars were one off builds and had the GAZ OE 16 way adjusters for comp and rebound. Units...

mines not yours!
I must admit when I recieved the tubular manifold the mating faces were miles out of true.
Luckily I have use of a machine shop so the head and turbo mating faces were macined up nice and flat, level and true for a perfect fit.
So at least that bit is sorted. And no cracks so far either.

Even though I am welding side mount bkts on, I will leave the original std belt clips on the OE sliders because the daily use of race belts and sliding the seat back and for to get in or out of the car is a real pain!

I have adj TEIN coilovers but replaced the race setting springs for some road ratings, better handling and a supple ride.

I fitted side mounts onto my own rails, but welding them onto MR2 std OE rails will allow the seats to sit lower down.
Does that help?

I sent an email to MINE'S in Japan giving them the EPROM code along with some other box details. I was told by the previous owner that it can run around 17-20 psi. But I'd like to be sure because "around about" isnt really good enough. So far I have no pinking. I have seen and heard of peo...

[Mk2] [Turbo] Mines ECU
I have a Mines ECU which feels a little flat compared to the std OE item that is fitted on my rev 1 tubby. Obviously the retarded timing is to allow more boost. Does anyone have factual information regarding the most boost or the correct boost that this ECU can run on my rev 1. Things that I have do...

Has anyone else had the following problem,
With a new battery and with the engine running the new battery is recieving 13.5 volts charge yet the white battery warning light stays on, not the red one. all the other lights and all circuits work perfectly.
Many thanks
Mike N.

The std actuator can be pre-loaded and yes driveability will improve.

bushes
I have fitted superflex bushes to just about every car I have owned, they are easy to fit (after the old bush is out!) and improve the handle quite dramatically.
The best results were on a 3 door Sierra Cosworth many moons ago.
When I get round to it I will fit some on my tubby.
Hope this helps.

"Imposible performance" just outside Canterbury off the A2. They do all cars incl 4 WD and specialise in all the Jap stuff and Turbo Skoda's. Weather you have any type of stand alone or mostly std, they do it. They have good MR2 knowledge and will be doing my own car soon. Also interesting...

Dave if its a coilover strut, the springs can be moved up and down on a screw thread using a platform (spring seat) then locked into place with a second screw locking ring. Screw it up to raise the car and vicky verky for down. If you mean adjustable only for damping (normally compression only) its ...
