pistonbroke
Unlikely, but you will see when its apart. The ring lands went on my original engine in 2 of the bores. There was no damage to the bores at all. The bit that breaks off is the piston land which is die cast alloy, it is held in place by the rings above and below it and also the wall of the cylinder s...

Re: [Mk2] [Turbo] Hub adaptors
Yes - Thanks for all of that. They are for my MR2 based replica (not a Ferrari) which I designed & built from the ground up. I need the adapters preferably so that I can save a lot of money by retaining my MR2 big brakes etc and anything that's available off the shelf normally makes life easier....

Re: [Mk2] [Turbo] Adding a supercharger to an existing turbocharged 3S-GTE
Problems I'm having is with cams, I'm running HKS 264 intake and 272 exhaust but they never came with there dial in sheets so there not set up right. Olly ref HKS, pm me if needed. Lancia did two group B rally cars with Turbo and superchargers. The 037 had 325bhp to start with in 1983. For 1984 it ...

[Mk2] [Turbo] Hub adaptors
I am after fitting 4 x 108 PCD wheels on my MK2 turbo (5 x 114.3 PCD),
Has anyone tried this, made their own or bought a 5 to 4 stud hub-centric adapter?
Would the MK1 4 stud original hubs fits a MK2 car?
Thanks for looking, and helping.

Re: [Mk2] [Turbo] new rev2 turbo and already worrying noises cooling system?
If your temp gauge goes up and the heater gets cold, this is normally a sign of overheating caused by low water levels in the coolant system. Top up at the rear bay filler neck and run car up to temp, then top up again as the thermostat opens (levels may drop slightly) & bleed the rad at the fro...

Burtons (Ford stuff) sell it (i'm sure others do too) the packaging has measuring strips on it, different colours depict the sizes required.

I adjusted my hks 272's on the dyno the other day its easy with vernier pulleys, just get your tools sorted prior and have the cam cover removed ready.
Also have an led type work lamp to see things properly.

Re: [Mk2] [Turbo] Apexi FC ecu hand commander
The rev counter reads slow by 200rpm, which may not sound like much, but it is!
Normally there is a screw driver slot to correct and set up the pulse on an aftermarket rev counter.
Mine does'nt have an external adjuster.

Re: [Mk2] [NA] Valve springs
If you just want to remove a valve, it can be done with a socket just smaller than the size of the top spring retainer, placed on the offending valve and stuck firmly with a suitable hammer, the collets will bounce out. If your new to this sort of thing wear saftey glasses or goggles. There are also...

Re: cams
would cams need reground if they were 2nd hand? would new caps be needed or would they get machined as well? No, once a cam has been run for over 30mins or so at 2000 + rpm with cam lube (as per manufacturers instructions) they are normally fine and just wear as normal (unless they have oil stavati...

Re: [Mk2] [Turbo] after market cams
If you fit aftermarket cams you must fit the manufacturers recomended springs. That means the std springs may be suitable for your profiles, but it also means they may not and you will have to buy the correct length and poundage aftermarket springs. This also includes the correct shim type and top s...
