Smoke
You need to get to the bottom of that one ASAP!! The fuel tank is directly below the gear lever. If you have an electrical fault with the in tank fuel pump or the fuel level sender or associated wiring you could have a very exciting time!

Supercharger Engine. 4AGZE, Rebuilt at huge cost. £1600
I have for sale my supercharged 4AGZE. It is a fully rebuilt 4A-GZE from a 1991 Corolla Levin AE92. This is the distributor less ignition version of the 4A-GZE and I believe that this is the ultimate development of this engine. It has significantly more power and torque than the MR2 Mk1 supercharged...

Rust Hole
You need to remove the dash because the leak usually comes through a rust hole in the bulkhead. I had this problem on my car and I removed the dash and found rust holes where the ventilation fan assembly goes through the bulkhead. Repairing them is a devil because gaining access to the rot in front ...

Leak
This particular rust spot is a bit of a pain to fix but it can be done. Removing the dash is a long fiddly job but it is not particularly difficult if you take your time. Good luck.

Gearbox Removal
I have changed quite a few gearboxes single handed and I find it easier to have the box suspended from a crane or winch rather than using jacks. The ability to swing the box toward the engine when it is suspended us useful. Whenever I dismantle parts I am a great one for greasing threads before reas...

Clutch
I have always been very impressed with NKK clutches and always try to fit them to all of my Jap cars. They give a nice light smooth pedal action and they last really well. NKK is the OEM supplier for a lot Japanese built cars.

Limited Slip Differential to suit Mk1 MR2 gearbox.
I have a genuine Toyota LSD that came from a Corolla Levin. It is a Torsen type diff and so is very civilised in use with no noise or sudden locking up. It is in excellent condition and is ready to fit. I also have a set of brand new genuine Toyota bearings to suit the diff. At the moment the diff i...

Water Leak
There is a common rot trap where the water drains at the base of the windscreens lead to. If you take the dash out you will often find small rust holes in the bulkhead along the line of the base of the metal box vent/drain cavity forward of the bulkhead. Removal of the dash can be a very intimidatin...

Gear indicator
That is a really great mod. I am tempted to have a go at making one of these myself once I have fitted my chargecooler and done all of the 1001 other jobs! I wonder if it would be possible to have a grid of six LEDs representing the six gears/selector positions and have them light up as each gear is...

Engine mounts
Thanks guys for all of the excellent replies. My car is only used for road use and I do not drive it that hard. In reality the torque generated by my 4A-GZE is probably not that great on comparison to some of the high powered creations of Paul and you guys who do the sprints etc. It sounds like it i...

Engine mounts
That is interesting. Sprint use must be brutal on the two engine mounts that control the torque. If your mounts can withstand lots of track and sprint use they cannot be that weak!
