Mk1 Supercharger Conversion Engine Mount Strengthening

Hi Guys, I am turning to you all again for some advice/ideas regarding my latest issue with my Mk1 monster. I know for a fact that I could never have got as far as I have with this project without you guys. I have installed a 4AGZE from a Corolla Levin in my Mk1 and I am wondering about strengthenin...

Any drive shaft removal tips?

Hi, As part of the six speed LSD gearbox build for my Mk1 I have needed to get a different set of drive shafts to suit the MR2 Roadster LSD that I am using. Paul Woods very kindly took the time to give me some advice on the matter and apparently a set of Mk2 NA shafts are a plug and play solution. I...

High Capacity Fuel Pump for sale

I have a High capacity fuel pump that suits a MR2 mk1. It has done less than 4000 miles and is in perfect working order. I bought it from Fensport about a year ago and paid £107 plus delivery for it. If you want to see what it looks like you can see it on the Fensport website. It is advertised as ha...

Engine bay latch move.

Thank you Jimi for sorting out the pictures for me. I should have taken a few more photos while I was doing the job but I got rather engrossed in the process and so I only have the two posted. I did consider moving the catch on the lid as PW does but with the tools, skills and facilities that I have...

Engine bay latch move.

My attempt to post pictures has been partially successful. I seem to have linked to a gallery of pictures which includes the two I had in mind (one of the white colored un-welded latch mount and one of a black painted finished latch). There are also a few other pictures in the gallery including my s...

Engine bay latch move.

Hi guys, I have recently moved the engine bay latch on my Supercharger conversion and I thought I would try to post a few photos of the job. The latch needs to be moved because on a supercharger one of the intercooler pipes goes where the latch normally sits so the SC lid has the latch moved over by...

Lambda sensor

Thanks for all the replies guys.

I have a manifold that I have had machined to take the lambda sensor and I will fit it when I get a moment.

Once the sensor is moved I need to find a good place to get my new exhaust made up.

Lambda sensor

Great!

Thanks for the reply Paul.

I had a feeling you would be able to answer this one.

Once I have moved the sensor I am planning to get a decent exhaust made up. I am hoping to get a slightly quieter one than the Magnex that I have at the moment.

Lambda sensor positioning question - Can anyone help?

I have a question regarding the Lambda sensor on my 4agze converted Mk1 and I was wondering if anyone on here can help. My Mk1 has the coil pack equiped 4AGZE from an AE92 Corolla Levin. The lambda sensor is fitted in the center section of the exhaust pipe for some strange reason. I was wondering if...

Mr2

Around Christmas time one year I saw it advertised in a small add in the local newspaper where my parents live. It belonged to a Doctor from Normandy near Guildford. I bought the car for £100 which is a laugh considering what you have been offered for it now! It was broken down on his drive but I go...

Previous owner

Looking at that picture I suddenly recognized the registration and realized that it was my old car! I spent many hours in a farmers barn near Tewkesbury rebuilding that one. I ended up selling it during a period when I needed cash for a house refurbishment. It is amazing that the roof leaks since I ...

Last time I checked this part was unavailable from Toyota. If anyone knows of an alternative part from another Toyota or other vehicle let us know. Mine is also totally gone.

Fire Prevention

One thing that I always do on any Mk1 that I acquire is change the injector seals. The rubber O-rings go hard with age and that can allow fuel and vapor to leak past them into the engine bay. Fuel in the engine bay is a sure recipe for a massive fire since the fuel rail and hoses are close by. Once ...

MR2 Mk1 Suspension

I am also trying to find some replacements for the springs and dampers on my Mk1. My car is a daily drive and the roads around our way are full of pot holes and speed bumps so I do not want a lowered/stiffened racing setup. I have heard that the Eibach springs do not lower the car too much and I may...

MR2 Mk1 Engine accesibility modification

Hi All Working on and removing the engine from a MR2 Mk1 can be a real drag so the last time I needed to remove the engine from a Mk1 I came up with this modification! It certainly made getting the engine out with limited tools easier. The scissor jack that is visible next to the two bricks was my m...

Magnex exhaust for Supercharger?

I have got a Magnex Stainless steel exhaust that was originally fitted to a standard Mk1 and I am wondering if it would fit my Supercharger. I have been trying to find out if Magnex produced different versions of their exhaust for the SC and NA versions of the Mk1. From what I can gather there was o...

Fuel tank

Do shine a torch into the tank through the hole where the fuel pump came out of and check for rust. One tank I opened up had gone rusty on the inside. It had a kind of tide mark where there was rust above the fuel level. The car it came from must have stood for a long time. Unfortunately the rubber ...

I bought a front valance for my Mk1 from him. He described it as being in excellent condition on the phone but when it turned up it was extensively rusted, dented and all the mounting lugs were damaged. The part was only fit for the scrap bin and he must have known that when he sent it. When I email...
