[Mk2] [Generic] How is the clutch pedal pushrod attached?
At the pedal end it's easy, remove a split pin and bolt to remove the fixing, but how is the pushrod attached at the master cylinder end?
The pushrod just rotates, will not unscrew.
Any ideas?

Re: [Mk2] [Generic] New clutch, high biting point - why?
What make of clutch? We had this on a clutch kit supplied by the customer (unbranded, quality ebay item  ) We could find nothing wrong with our install, and we didn't need to bleed as we hadn't opened the hydraulics. Out came the gearbox again, in went an Exedy kit.... Problem solved! I bough...

I think so.
In my experience air in the system would cause a soft pedal with a biting point near the floor.

[Mk2] [Generic] New clutch, high biting point - why?
I've had a new 3 piece clutch fitted to my Rev 3 NA. Before the clutch was replaced the clutch pedal biting point was high, almost towards the end of the pedal travel. The clutch was also slipping when full throttle was applied in low gears. With the new clutch fitted, the clutch no longer slips, ho...

Fortunately the replacement door was rust free with no evidence of loose or flaking sealer.

Re: Door rust
Nice looking car :D mines the same colour and i love and its rusted in exactly the same place as yours. Lucky you found a replacement in the same colour, ive settled for a different colour but plan to get a full respray in the next year or so. Thanks mate. Whilst the colour match isn't bad, my repl...

Re: Door rust
Rob is absolutely right, the seam sealer is to blame. This was the door on my recently acquired Rev 3: http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v214/technics1974/MR2%20Rev3%20Blue/b9.jpg I sourced a replacement door (not perfect but the best I could find): http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v214/technics197...

Bloody amazing!
I just paid £800 for my tidy Rev3 NA and I thought I got a bargain.
Cars are cheap at the moment, obviously!

Re: [Mk2] [Generic] Modified dashboard - show me yours!
The metal bracket is fixed with a pair of 10mm nuts, it comes off easily enough and there's even a bit of lining that springs back and infills the redundant opening. I removed the storage unit as I don't keep anything in it and I don't like the look of it. Seats - mine are mint and better seats cost...

I'd like to change the interior of my Rev 3 without spending £££ on fancy gauges etc...
I've removed the central rear storage unit and replaced the gear stick knob with something a bit meatier.
Any ideas what to do next?
Photos please!

Re: Engine lid strut clip - part number please UPDATED
Peter,
The part number you've given me is for a circular plastic clip.
The part number according to the Toyota dealer is 53455-17040 and the part is called Clamp, Hood Support.
You may wish to update your records.

No sir.
Foglights work as they should but I would like them to come on with my main beam and flash.

[Mk2] [Generic] How to connect fog lights to full beam?
How do I go about connecting the front fog lights to the main beam circuit?
Two requirements:
1. I don't want to cut the loom about too much.
2. I don't want to overload the circuit or switch.
Any ideas?

Re: [Mk2] [Generic] Adjusting ignition timing - which bolts to release?
Me desire to fiddle with the ignition settings is based on experiences with my Rev 1 GT (approx 10 years ago, which is why I can't remember how to do it now!). By tweaking the ignition timing I managed to make the engine significantly more responsive at lower engine speeds. My Rev 3 GT runs fine, bu...

Re: [Mk2] [Generic] Adjusting ignition timing - which bolts to release?
Peter Gidden - SBITS wrote:Peter C wrote:No good?
IMHO, no.
Why no?
Adjusting the timing with a gun is fine if the engine is new / unworn and everything is still within factory tolerances. In my experience of dealing with old cars (my Rev 3 has 116k miles on the clock), factory settings can be improved on.
What do you think?

Re: [Mk2] [Generic] Adjusting ignition timing - which bolts to release?
Thanks chaps, I assume these are the two bolts. Not that much scope for adjustment? http://mr2.noegruts.com/ignition/distbolts2.jpg Remember to bridge E1 and TE1 in the diagnostic port (to disable the electronic advance), and set to 10 degrees BTDC with a strobe. I was proposing to adjust the timing...

Standing by the nearside of the car, looking at the engine, I can see one bolt to the upper left of the distributor that I need to loosen. However, I can't see or feel any other bolts. Where are they? How many are theres?
