Re: [Mk2] [Generic] Steering Wheel

With the original steering wheel removed the airbag warning light will come on, which amounts to an MoT failure.

Alternatives to 225/50/15 tyres?

Has anyone fitted an alternative tyre and lived to tell the tale?

Prices of 225/50/15s are getting silly and I'm wondering what my options are. I don't really want to fit aftermarket wheels.

Anyone?

Re: [Mk2] [Generic] Slow windscreen wipers - FIXED, SEE UPDATE

Update: I dismantled the scuttle panel to gain access to the wiper mechanism, which is needed to unbolt the wiper motor from the mechanism. http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v214/technics1974/MR2%20Rev3%20Blue/w2.jpg With the wiper motor removed, it became obvious the replacement wasn't quite right....

Re: 3S-GE engine

That sounds fair enough. To be honest with you, at this end of the price range I don't really care whether someone else bought a similar car for a hundred quid less. Due to the increasing cost of insurance and petrol prices, MR2 values are very low at the moment. Mine also came with a thick history ...

Re: 3S-GE engine

ok thanks mate just wonder because in some other cars i have had it goes up the fan kicks in then it goes back down thanks for that. Appreciated I've had six Rev 1/2/3 NAs over the past 10 years and none of them had temperature issues. Even in heavy traffic on a hot day the needle would never rise ...

Re: 3S-GE engine

Are you on a tight budget? How much are you looking to pay for the Rev 2? Nothing wrong with Rev 2s, but Rev 3s look so much better and prices are at an all time low at the moment. I paid just £800 for my Rev 3 with long T&T and compared with some bargains that have come up in the past few weeks...

Re: 3S-GE engine

The temperature gauge should not rise above half way. The fans kick in as and when required.

Re: 3S-GE engine

Depending on which Revision the car is, anything between 158 and 175BHP. At least that was the output when the cars were new.

Short MoT and rent, but still a bargain.

Surely something has to be wrong with it at that price?

[Mk2] [Generic] Slow windscreen wipers - FIXED, SEE UPDATE

Gents,

What has caused my wipers to work slowly on all settings?

Battery is good and the system is charging. Everything else works ok.

Please help.

Re: [Mk2] [Turbo] Clutch master, pushrod deflection

Hey, I've recently spent a fair amount of time fiddling with the clutch pedal pushrod, trying to adjust the height of the biting point. I've found the pushrod to be a very sturdy piece of kit. It would take a lot of force to bend the pushrod. Are you 100% certain that the pushrod is at fault? Peter
