Must be turbo, as the NA Mongoose is just the backbox - so the original pipe goes over the subframe and under the sump.

Search on here, it's a very common problem with the TVSS-IIIB ecu module.
They seriously degrade with age.
The TVSS-IIIB was fitted to UK rev4/5.

Considering rev5's were £1.5K - £2.5K three years back when I sold mine... Rev 1 for £1890  http://www.autotrader.co.uk/classified/advert/201507225412742?maximum-badge-engine-size=2.0&minimum-badge-engine-size=2.0&page=1&onesearchad=used%2Cnearlynew%2Cnew&radius=1500&sort=...

When I changed mine I just got one from Toyota, £45.
That was a few years back now, but it was a reasonable price then

Re: Mk2 prices on the up......
Prices in general of mk2's seem to be very high on ebay and autotrader.
I'd say stupidly high too.
UK rev1's listed at £3,000 WTF

Re: Forum thanks
The knowledge base could do with a makeover anyway. I mentioned years ago that the guide photos should be stored on the imoc servers otherwise the photos just go missing, this is how they're done on mr2oc. My guides on there are missing lots of pics, I've not deleted them, but they were hosted by im...

We could install a new version of phpBB or VBulletin, use the automated upgrade and conversion tools supplied with them to convert everyone's topics and posts, install these new plugins and then try and convert the data from our old plugins to fit our new ones, but that is a horrendously complex ta...

Re: UK rev5 N/A to Jap rev5 Turbo conversion
I wasn't mocking you ;) Most manufacturers do put bigger brakes on their more powerful specced cars, regardless of weight, but Toyota didn't with the MR2. The chassis is the same :) Although JDM cars had stiffer suspension. AFAIK UK & JDM cars were undersealed the same. Speed limiter I guess wou...

Re: UK rev5 N/A to Jap rev5 Turbo conversion
I'm thinking its the best of both worlds, but could be wrong? I assume the brakes would have needed to have been upgraded ideally? No sure what you mean by "best of both worlds"? What does the UK car have that the turbo wouldn't have? Unless you're really really after a sunroof  ...

Re: Replacing Shock Absorbers
I presume it's a UK rev5?
If so, yes you can just buy inserts.
But the inserts will cost you around the same price as brand new whole shock absorbers from Toyota. I paid £252 for all four shocks from Toyota 6 years ago, so they're around £63 each.

Re: Rear Lights - Fog Light Modification
I had mine set up with dual filament bulbs like: tail lights - all four came on (dim) brake lights - all four came on (bright) fog lights - inner lights came on (bright) (and outer lights were also on dim, as foglights can only work when when headlights on) Obviously if you braked while foglights on...
