ITS ALIIIIIVE!!!!! :D It would seem that the rev 2 throtle body on the rev 1 ecu is not a happy combination, i have just swapped it for the rev 1 and it starts and runs first time. just been out and had a go. i altered the position of the dizzy slightly and managed to get it started but only with the help of a little accelerator, if i don't keep the revs up it dies? Also have oil comeing out of the exhaust! Any ideas?

Have not dismantled the engine, i have the battery on charge tonight hoping by some miracle tommorow all will be ok as the last thing i done before i came in tonight was to turn it over a few times by hand and then tried to start it, it almost went then the battery gave up.

After turning the engine manually a few times and then trying to start it seems to almost fire then stops. I removed the spark plugs and they were soaked in fuel, is this an over fuelling issue and would this stop the car from starting?

Checked all connection and all ok, this is driving me mad

Thanks for all your input so far i will give the engine fault codes a go tommorrow. I thought that the battery would be the problem so hooked up leads between my van and the car and still no joy.

I have turned the engine by hand ( 19mm socket ) and it seems to turn ok ( it does turn anti clockwise doesn't it). I don't have the kit to check for engine fault codes.
