Re: Lovely Early MK1 For Sale....

I'd agree with that, about £4-5K IMHO.

Lovely Early MK1 For Sale....

I've just come across this MK1a for sale on 'Pistonheads' which looks like a lovely example. I'm sure I saw the same car for sale 2-3 years ago (probably when the current owner bought it) but from memory the asking price was a lot less than it is now, possibly half the current asking price, it was o...

Re: 20v conversion

the 2ZZ-GE is the coolest swap though IMO. it retains the natural feel of the MR2, revs higher, reduces weight, comes with a 6 speed box, and makes 190bhp with VVTi. however its generally a more expensive engine and a hard swap due to OBD-II electronics ( it physically bolts in very easily , the wi...

Stainless Exhaust Options?

Does any know if there is a standard replacement exhaust on the market but made in stainless? I know about the Magnex/Mongoose/Janspeed types available but I wanted something in standard sizes only made in stainless for longevity and finish etc but I haven't been able to find anything? Cheers.

Re: Poly Bush question - Rear suspension arm

 sorry mate, that's just Toyota - the parts department at any decent sized Toyota garage. If yours were anything like mine I'd say you need new ones - they're only a couple of quid each. Tony has also posted a list of bolts you need which I would advise you get, having learnt the hard way and ...

I've got to get round to fitting my bush kit, who are Toymota in case I need to order any?

Re: Silicon Hose Kits?

The auction has ended for these now but I'd been trying to confirm if this was in fact a MK1 kit, or as I suspect a MK2 (non-turbo) kit before I bid. I'd already asked the seller who said he bought it from Merlin Motorsport and gave me a link to the product on their website but it appreared to be a ...

Silicon Hose Kits?

Just spotted this on ebay but didn't think there was such a kit available? There certainly isn't one listed on the Samco website, has anyone seen one for sale before? http://cgi.ebay.co.uk/Toyota-MR2-Mk1-Samco-Silicon-Coolant-Hose-Kit_W0QQitemZ290334981483QQcmdZViewItemQQptZUK_CarsParts_Vehicles_Car...

Re: clutch flexi hose

Coo, thread revival!

The hose fits in the engine bay between the slave cylinder assembly and the hard pipe on the chassis. They're available from www.speed-source.net (the manufactureres) as well. :thumleft:[/quote]

Thanks for that :) I think I might add one to my next order!

Re: clutch flexi hose

I've got one on my car, wouldn't have recommended it otherwise. Not sure whether it makes much of a difference as the clutch feel on Mk1s is so individual and I fitted a new clutch at the same time. The clutch is quite heavy, but I like it like that. I've seen these on the 'twosrus' website ...

Re: Spare Wheel Mounting...

I've got a mk3 roadster alloy in my frunk and it fits perfectly with no alteration or change of bolt :? Yeh but the problem is mine aren't MK3 wheels plus I also wanted the face of the wheel showing outwards in the frunk (rather than backwards) which is why the bolt is far too short! Anyway I've so...

Re: Spare Wheel Mounting...

Yeh thanks for that, I'd been thinking along those lines too. The other option I've thought about is using a 15" space saver spare from a MK3 MR2 which will obviously be a lot thinner.

Spare Wheel Mounting...

Has anyone used any alternative methods of securing their spare wheel in the frunk? I've just fitted 15" wheels and have a matching spare I want to carry but because the wheel/tyre combo is slightly bigger than the stock the standard bolt/clamp is too short and is also slightly offset now so ca...

Re: Track / Width

Thanks for that :) I think if anything it's a camber issue as I was forgetting the struts have all been off over the winter and lowering springs fitted so all the settings will be out anyway
