Re: The end of my MK1? :(

exactly the same thing happened to mine a couple of weeks ago! head maybe warpped but thats only £35 at most to get machined (usualy £20 cash 8) ). you will probably find some corrosion on the block or head though that might spell its death, theres nothing to loose taking the head off though. if i c...

Re: Running without a bonnet?

no you need a working wash/wipe system to be road legal. having said that if its only over a short distance the chances of a copper doing you for it are minimal.

Re: Mark 1 Death?!

as above most owners buy one as a second weekend toy so wont get rid of one or if they did it would be to someone who would use it as intended. the other owners are people who cant afford new cars so want a good vaue second hand car thats a bit different so never will they buy a new car. the biggest...

Re: Close Ratio Gear box

shouldnt be to hard to modify the cable shifter that would be the easy bit of a celica box just bolts straight in. my worry would be the cost as they are fairly modern cars and prices for something like a secondhand 6speed box would be a few hundred quid i bet. i spose you would also need the fricti...

Re: Close Ratio Gear box

i was thinking about this too as the gears are a little to far apart for track driving. my only thoughts were maybe some of the corrolla models may have a lower ratio final drive that may fit.

Re: More geometry setting questions...

probably not much use but my track car is 1.5-1.6 rear and around 1.7-1.8 front. caster needs backing off though imho. toe is massive at the front 3mm but will back to 1 the track rod wouldn't wind in any further so need to sort them out. rear track is around 3mm and gives and nice balance to very s...

Re: Toyo T1Rs vs Yokohama Paradas

got t1r's on the track car ad my other road car, seem very good for the money as can be had for around £30 plus fitting a tyre in 15"! would recomend going for a high load rating though as my track car has only about 80 or 82 rated tyres and the sidewalls are very soft, the 92's i have on my ot...

Re: cheap headgasket set?

i only needed the engine for one trackday that was the problem, probably all of 150miles i couldn't imagine a gasket could be that bad to last less than that. but when i got the kit it was probably the worst quality gasket set i have ever seen! im now going to build up a new engine with a low millag...

Re: Urgent advice on fueling system required please!

the sensors you will need are IAt (in the metal pipe or on the manifold on a 1a), tps, map and the mixture adjustment screw. also make sure all the coolant sensors are connected. theres not alot to do really so should be an easy fix.

Re: 4AGTE......discuss

i currently have a AE101 4agze im turbo charging. if using the standard managment its a bit of a nighmare thus far as i will also be junking the inletmanifold and throttle body off the supercharger as its an awful setup and just would work with a turbo. this leaves a bit of a sensor and wiring night...

Re: Best discs and pads?

Re: Lower seat for extra trackday headroom?

on mine i made a subframe out of angle iron as using the standard subframe or any aftermarket one ment i would have been on in the sky! even though its only mounted just above the floors rails by about 5mm it still sits quite high with my helmet touching the roll cage and im only 5'6! you need a sea...
