Been done into a Mk1 but with a spaceframed rear. The guy who did it was a pretty $hit-hot engineer from what I could tell! The Mk2 is actually narrower in the engine bay apparently so it's pretty much a non-starter in the transverse orientation (unless you went spaceframe on it, even then maybe not).
reduces the loss in the drive train :thumleft: you will see a drop of about 5-9mpg though On the two dyno runs I had on my old turbo (same dyno + operator) the second with same spec but with new Helix clutch & Fidanza (+ new exhaust & decat), the flywheel figure was 7bhp up but the ATW figu...

[-X Surely those rear wheels (although very nice) are well outside of the arches & therefore illegal & an MOT fail. I would have thought the silver on black number plate was rather illegal too? :-k Aprt from that, cracking job on the wheels and a lovely looking car. I had a very sim...
Personaly i would not put 5k into a rev1, i`d sell buy a rev3 atleast your starting with a better base block... if you want longjevity (SP?) then use your money wisely and get a rev3. JM3PW Daz I suppose the power goal might be possible on a rev3 without the need for any headwork. Plus you've got t...
Tbh, if I had the cash and I thought it would score me some poon tang I would buy a Boxter. on a completely random note is it just me or does driving an mr2 score you nil poon tang, don't think i've ever got an admirable look from a member of the opposite sex when out in mine :( Although this could...
64 liter tank that will be in the front most likely. 65mpg im not sure on :-k I thought that the MPG on Gas was worse but because you had so much of it and it was cheaper no one really cared? Exactly right. And as soon as they raise the duty in line with other fuels it won't be any more economical ...
When you pull hard on it (you'll have to put all your strength into it - its probably never been removed - ever) just watch out it doesn't come off into your face. Seriously, be careful. I almost broke my nose once! #-o Very easy to avoid. After removing the nut, just put it back on but only 1-2 tu...
I used to have a Merc 190, the oil feed pipe came adrift and stopped lubricating the camchain. When they took it apart the big ends were $hagged too. It sounded just like your car. :( I didn't notice any problem until I popped round to pick my mate up in my 'new' car and he said "didn't know it...
Hi, Finally got round to sorting this out, ridiculously easy as it turned out. We'd had the unit fitted in the other car (Vauxhall) and JVC actually make two of the leads on the stereo loom with plugs so you can swap them over as Vauxhall have the permanent live in a different position to most other...
Just to clarify, are you talking about the speed reading or the mileage? If the speed, then without question, get it done and have it delimited while you're at it. This will also make the mileage start recording in miles so you will get a 'mixed' reading which will look higher than it actually is be...
Excellent job there mate, not sure I would have gone with the gold but just personal preference there.
By the way, did you get those wheels off Steve B? If so they're my old ones (think that might have been covered in another thread)...why did I ever get rid of those?
Basically your asking for two seperate things, you can either tune for power or economy, not both, simply because the more power you demand, the more fuel you use up to get that power. Crap. High load areas you tune for power, low load for economy so you can very much tune for both, low load run le...
Now how many people here thought , like me , that our top speed was governed by our gear ratios . Well it seems , given the power the box is good for over 200mph . Well it all depends on how high the car will rev doesn't it? If it's powerful enough to pull, say, 8,500rpm in 5th then I dare say 200m...
What I want to know is where these cars go!! My mum's Mk2 was lifted a few years ago and never turned up... I imagine it was broken for parts, but where are these parts being sold?? Ebay probably then the rest to the scrap yard or one of them "We collect scrap metal free" adverts thats us...
