I filed the end of the threaded rod to a point (slightly blunted) and made sure an M6 nut went on OK. The point/cone on the end helps it find it's way into the thread at the outside of the lamp housing.
I had the same problems with the upper bump stops. The problem is, when the lights are up, the should be resting on the bump stop, so you cant get the sods in. With the lights up, use the manual knob to lower them a few mm and you can then slide the stops in. I fitted a nyloc nut on the end of the t...
It reminds me of the way my mate used to break in his two stroke mopeds for moped racing. He used to fire up a new bike and hold the throttle open until it seized, strip the top end off and clean up the marks where it picked up. He then went on to thrash the thing around a circuit for hours. I would...
The little earth from the panels to the car body is there to improve the EMI noise shielding, helping keep the electrical noise getting out of the engine bay. There is no current flow through the link so it couldn't blow a fuse, unless the dangling end got in amongst some other electrical stuff.
Everybody seems to think MR2 brakes are pants, if you compare them to modern (overbraked) cars they seem to be. MR2 brakes are just more progressive and have much more feel. If you stamp on the brakes of a modern car, they come on like a switch and hurl you through the screen. The MR2s brakes are pr...
Yeah I've still got the limiter on my G-Limited. I can't see any point in getting it removed as it will just encourage me to speed and risk losing my licence. Call me boring but I actually think all cars should have a top speed restriction of about 100mph, I understand that speed in itself doesn't ...
no power steering ! and i am already in mph and the trip meter is in miles. ive just aquired a delimiter. fits at the back of the speedo . this be ok ? If it's a bits4twos one like the ones sold in www.twosrus.co.uk and you already have a UK speedo then just set the switch to MPH and you're good to...
The problem with the converters is that the speed pulses which are fed to the ECU also go to the power steering and the automatic gearbox if you have one. The pulses coming in at 5/8 the normal rate means that the PAS stays on until 80 instead of going off at 50. The auto gearbox if you have one wil...
Even if it's an electronic speedo, if there's a converter in there a UK speedo will read wrong. You either need to get rid of the converter or fit a JDM speedo with a 180mph face.
No mate, it's not complicated. Take the speedo out of the binnacle and put it in your original binnacle. You can't use the whole UK set of instruments as the pinouts are different. We have a UK speedo in our rev 4 turbo.
More info needed. Are we talking 100 x 4 stud to 114.3 x 5 stud? If so, then as Allan says, it'd be cheaper to sell the wheels and buy some that fit the car without adapters.
The pulses are sent from the speed sensor to the speedo and then sent back to the ECU from there, so if you have a converter/delimiter the pulses the avcr will see are converted mph pulses. You need to connect the avcr to the sensor wires at some point between the sensor on top of the gearbox and be...
There are several companies who sell through Twosrus. Peter at Sbits is just one, I sell my delimiters through there, there are other contributors also. There is an option on the site to see which company you are actually buying from, so it depends on what you are buying as to what service you get. ...
i am having the same problem, but it seems to be when i accelerate hard it dosnt give an acurate reading it just jumps all over the place untill i back off , and am getting error code 42 on the ecu which is the speed sensor..... is it hard to get to the speed sensor, how much is a new one, any one ...
A chip won't change the rev 1 speedo at all, they only work on rev 2 to 5 cars. It may remove the limit but if you have power steering and the chip isn't a clamping type then the PAS will stay on at motorway speeds. For a rev 1 you need either a UK speedo and a clamping delimiter, or a converter gea...
From what i can gather mate the UK clocks will go straight in, the only part i'm not sure on is whether you need the gizmo to convert it to mph as the clocks will be calibrated differently to interpret the same signal from the gearbox. You'll obviously need a delimiter tho. Please correct me if i'm...
