looks very shiny indeed. Hope you have mesh in the front air damn to protect that or a stone is going to ruin that bit of kit

Re: [Mk2] [Turbo] Progressive rate springs, which way up?
the springs, certainly on the mr2 std shock setup are shaped to fit only one way. It's pretty obvious when you see them as the springs fit into the groves on the top of the suspension strut. The two sets I've fitted to my own have had the tighter coils at the top mounts, not the strut mount.

Re: mk2 rusted through inner rear wheel arches (front section beside vents)
both inner arches from under the door to the rear boot will need replacing plus the sills inner and outer also both sides. The rear boot section also has rust down in the gaps into the lower floor. Having had in the past sills replaced and a p1$$ poor job done (not cheap either) I can't see a proper...

Re: mk2 rusted through inner rear wheel arches (front section beside vents)
i cannot weld nor have I the space to do it even if I could weld. I suppose at the end of the day spending 2-3k to fix it is a difficult spend when the car in tip top condition is worth what 2k (rev3 gts) ? It needs the timing belt done too and it's all just big bills for a car which is worth way le...

mk2 rusted through inner rear wheel arches (front section beside vents)
that makes the car beyond fixing yes? It was noticed during rear pad replacement, you can look up into the wheel arch and see where the inner arch is just rusted through and no longer connected to the outer arch. Passenger side is the worst but drivers side isn't far behind at all

Re: [Mk2] [Turbo] Fuel gauge reading incorrectly.
litres man, litres man. How many litres does it take to fill up :) Fuel prices vary so 45quid of fuel could be 45 litres or 30 litres. The speedo takes it's feed directly from the gearbox then from the dash it goes back to the ECU. If the speedo needle is bouncing around then it could be as daft as ...

Re: [Mk2] [Turbo] EBC question
It may require the ratio turned down a bit in cold weather to prevent over boosting but that's like a 5 second with an ebc rather than faffing with an mbc in the engine bay. I usually turn my dual blitz down a couple of points when I notice rising boost levels in winter. Tis an easy clean job

Re: [Mk2] [Turbo] EBC question
well on the plus side at least the pump failed nice and early. Running lean for long on these engines under boost conditions generally ends with extra ventilation in the block and oil all over the road :( Still crap you're having to get it fixed as none of these things are cheap to fix (and should h...

Re: [Mk2] [Turbo] Turbo timer harness, block connector thingy.
save your money and harness and just drive off boost for the last 5 minutes of your journey. Unless you live at the end of Knockhills' pit lane you will be able to drive smart enough to cool the turbo and oil down before shutting off. Sitting stationary for 5 minutes then shutting an engine off is i...

Re: [Mk2] [Turbo] EBC question
if the solenoid is connected up and not working then you'll get slightly less than waste pressure ie 6-7 psi on a rev2 or 9-10psi on a rev3+ turbo. Going by your other threads and pic of the airfilter setup you have a rev3+ conversion so hitting 13psi is odd with a busted ebc. edit - all sorted now,...

Re: rear brake pads - discontinued from Toyota now?
i've heard of chris wilson before re pads so will have a gander through the interweb. Pagid good name too, I dont track the car but single track roads can be tough on brakes even though speeds are not high (lots of braking and not a lot of air through wheels)

i'm sure it will be all good, I'm just unlucky with garages that way (or just don't pay enough for a proper job!)
How did the suspension replacement go ?

Re: Seized brakes
clean the brakes up then try moving it. If the brakes are seized that bad you'll want to fix them before driving it or if trailering it prize the pads off the discs so the wheels will turn.

Re: [Mk2] [Turbo] Radiator and restoration
welcome back :) Radiators are much of a muchness, just get one that is the right size from a decent supplier and pay for either std or the alloy units, there is a thread in the general section from a guy that has a shiny alloy unit. Looks pretty good and wasn't that much more than the normal radiato...

hopefully the guy has done a good job on the sill. I've had passenger side done twice and the drivers side once. Needs done again both sides. Hoping third time lucky and properly done!
