with coilovers the general rule is you'll be wanting narrower front rims and lower offset as stock struts are pretty narrow. 8inch ET35 for example hits most front coilovers.

daft question. Have you re-plumbed the black and white VTA valve at the BOV? The side marked B should be on the passenger side. you can fit 225x45x17 under stock perches but depending on Tyre will depend on the er massaging required of the lower cup. 235x40 is shorter in height but obv a bit wider. It has been done by quite a few folks

it uses the stock front caliper so fitment shouldn't be an issue though obv you'll need 17inch front wheels to clear. If you chech what clearance you have the now then that'll give you the best idea
