Re: Camshafts - reducing power?? on Turbo Technics turbo
lol, this isnt a sale thread!!
They are 264 I think but obviously piper not HKS.
I say TDC but they did have to dial them to a piper setting following that (its been a while since the build i forget these important points).

Camshafts - reducing power?? on Turbo Technics turbo
Be interested in opinions here on the above. I had an engine build a while back and replaced the cams as part of this, when it went back together we could not get the power back to what it was (280bhp down to 220bhp ish). To address this we added a boost controller (taking pressures to 1.2 bar) and ...

Plastic Fittings for routing a seatbelt through the back of a seat..
Hi all as above... This is basically the seats I have: http://i759.photobucket.com/albums/xx236/vinniehud/DSC_0350.jpg Im trying to get a plastic 'surround' for want of a better description that I can glue/stitch/clip to the mesh to allow me to run a seatbelt harness through the bottom/middle. Akin ...

Question on mounting a harness
Very simple one for anyone who has done it before.. Basically I know where the points need to be, I know where to get a spreader plate and eye bolts, I have a drill... but besides drilling the holes and bolting in the eye bolts is there anything else I need to do? I'm thinking if I drill the floor o...

Question on fueling limit with a bigger Walbro 255 pump
Hi, The previous owner fitted a walbro 255 intank fuel pump, but I am still running standard injectors. Will this allow them to go slightly further than standard (my understanding is that that is about 330 bhp) or it it just a prep for bigger injectors and aftermarket ecu later? During my new rebuil...

Re: [Mk2] [Turbo] Lambda sensor and Turbo question (not related) with pics
The aftermarket gauge I have stated roughly 0.5 bar first and second gear and 0.7 maybe slightly over in third+ No boost controller ever fitted either EBC or manual as I thought the engine was still new and should be left to settle for a little bit. I am partially to blame, I had let the oil get low...

Re: [Mk2] [Turbo] Lambda sensor and Turbo question (not related) with pics
Thanks B4rk3r, does anyone know if this is correct?
The car did vent to atmousphere, when I came off the trottle so im assuming that it didnt build up all the pressure?
The lamda helps on the air fuel mixture doesnt it? If this is wrong (the poor seal) could that have caused detonation?

[Mk2] [Turbo] Lambda sensor and Turbo question (not related) with pics
Lamda Sensor: My engine is being rebuilt soon, is currently being checked over (stripped down). They have found the lamda sensor was not put on properly when originally installed during the last rebuild by the previous owner (back in December 08). It was put on leaving what looks like a small gap be...

Re: [Mk2 NA] help needed for my wacky project
Im a complete novice with mechanics so dont quote me, but someone on MR2OC bought a mini supercharger with the same idea but they said it was slightly too big to fit. I love the idea. Here is the thread, might be worth a look, drop him a line see what the probs were. http://www.mr2oc.co.uk/index.php...

Re: Let's clear up a common misconception (oil viscosity)
Ive read through this and have a well maintained NA. I have just put in 0w 40 castrol rs. However i am now having doubts, should i have gone safe and got the 5w 40? I was thinking that as im not running a turbo i dont need a heat proof oil (well over 40), and the better start up protection of the 0w...
