Re: Corroded alloys

I've found a breakers on eBay that will send me a set of (2nd hand obviously so unsure of exact condition) wheels for £100 + £48 delivery I'm going to leave my car with Hi-Q tomorrow and see if they can sort it out for me. If not it looks like I'm going to have to shell out for some replacement whee...

Re: Corroded alloys

Sorry i meant to say that the front right was very flat.

But I think the front left will also go flat because it used to with the old tyres on. Rear ones are fine.

Anyone got any mk1b wheels for sale?

Corroded alloys

The tyres on my MR2 were deflating at an alarmingly rapid rate recently so I got them replaced at my local Hi-Q place They were worn budget jobs anyway so I got my tracking sorted whilst I was there and went away happy. 'till this morning when i found that my new tyres were also flat. Now I'm thinki...

2 MR2s blasting round Bruntinghtorpe Proving Ground (1 black, 1 red)

I saw ya! Today (That's Thursday 23rd) I was one of the guys putting up a marquee by the side of the track. So, what were you there for? Can't be cheap to stay on the track for that long when it's so quiet. I've always wanted to take my car on the track there without paying, I work there a lot so i ...

I'm very impressed at the inginuity to do something like this and it looks very good too!

Would there be any way to get the larger projector on the outside and the smaller one on the inside?

Re: Gas Flowed Cylinder Heads

get some 272 cams in there and piggyback management (greddy emanage would do the job, for under £300 from the states complete with software and loom) and theres no reason why you cant push the power closer to 150bhp This sounds good :) I will have to do some reading/researching. There is no evidenc...

Gas Flowed Cylinder Heads

I would actually like to know what sort of power my recently purchased mk1 should have. It's had a full engine rebuild and while it was apart it had all the porting/polishing/gas flow treatment, with a K&N and stainless exhaust to top it off. So, does the 4AGE respond well to these type of mods?...

1989 mk1

Here is my car that I bought at the start of this month. It's an 89 mk1 with 125,000 on the clock. It already had some engine mods but since buying it I couldn't leave it as it was. Within a week I had bought new front speakers and replaced the broken aerial, I have also fitted a set of 7x15 Rondell...

[All] [Generic] Can anyone help me find some spigot rings?

I am having some serious trouble finding spigot rings to fit my wheels. I've got an 89 mk1 MR2 and the centre bore, I believe is a fairly common 54.1mm However, the wheels I am running (7*15 Rondell X-Spoke) have a 70.4mm centre bore and none of the wheel places I know of/can find can supply the rig...

Re: Fitment of aftermarket alloys

Just had a peek in the MR2 manual and it states 103Nm Also found out that the bore of my alloys is 70.4mm, so i'll be needing 70.4 --> 54.1 spigots. The Polo that the wheels came off have a 57.1mm centre bore Even after looking at the wheels I can't tell if the tapered style nut is the right one for...

Re: Fitment of aftermarket alloys

Thanks Jim, very useful. The new nuts are tapered. I will check to see if they suit the alloy wheels. I don't have a torque wrench at home so when i put them on I just did it by feel, so i wil have to check that also. Thirdly, the wheels came off a 4x100 VW Polo. So the spigot ring will be will be t...

Re: Fitment of aftermarket alloys

You say that yours have not come loose but do you run aftermarket wheels with non-standard nuts?

Fitment of aftermarket alloys

I've just aquired some Rondell X-spoke alloys that i've fitted to my '89 MR2. The standard Toyota wheel nuts that came off did not fit the new alloys, so I used the nuts that came with the wheels. Went for a little drive with the new wheels and found that the nuts were not staying tight. I'm a littl...

Koffee, that car is stupidly nice. Why don't you have it anymore?

Out of interest, you can buy those wheels on Forza Motorsport on the Xbox360!

Looks great. Where was the numberplate before then?

I need to get some paint on my lower valance. It's got a few scrapes on it!

Re: MK1: Retro Rides Show - Mallory (weekender/camping)

Hello there! I'm coming to the Retro Rides show this weekend! Planning on coming down Saturday after I finish work (whenever that may be) and staying till Sunday. I'm very new to this MR2 business so I'll definitely be coming over to the mk1 MR2 stand to ask questions and generally learn stuff. That...
