Re: is it worth repairing?

you need to change garages then :)

if its just a engine and box required then fitting you should easilly get that for about 1000-1200.

its only a 1 to 1.5 days labour and you can get and engine and box for about 600

maybe his car has slightly more damage than we know about?

cheers

Re: Magnetic oil drain plug

Ive seen ebay ads for magnetic oil drain plugs... Sounds to me like quite a good idea.... Is it worth the effort or is there no point since the oil filter does the same job? basically they catch stuff that would normally be caught by the filter making it look as if they are doing loads. bit of a gi...

just for information

JE pistons also use a similar format of measuring each piston then adding on the clearance figures quoted in the instructions.

Just make it clear to your machine shop.

Re: Experts advice please, Overboost Problem

chris all your comment make sense in theory, ok not using my car as an example this turbo has been used by people with built heads, over sized valves, huge boot mount intercoolers custom intake manifolds, stroker kits 400 bhp + etc etc with no overboosting issues, tricksters car never overboosted on...

Your “comments” “banter” etc never p*ss me off as much as finding out shortly after I told you all about the manual boost controllers I was selling online (during a car meet up at Gosforth Park, remember) You started retailing the very same part, from the same supplier, undercutting my prices, fair...

Re: Experts advice please, Overboost Problem

I personally don't think it can be a wastegate size issue, like trickster says this turbo / kit has been used on many other rev2's and rev3's without any overboosting problems. I have cams in my rev2 along with head work being done so i cannot see a stock rev 3 with the same turbo flowing significan...

Re: ATS TD06 install help!

the pipe you show only connects to the block in one place its the main oil feed line to the turbo (small part of the pipe) the other is the return back into the sump (larger size pipe) Remove the big banjo bolt from the block, you should have an adaptor with your kit that screws into the hole remani...

AEM not plug & play

With all this talk of ECU's recently and the AEM being sold as a plug and play unit just thought I would let anyone interested in buying one know that it isn't. I had suspected for some time that the US ECU pinouts where different from the JAP ECU. I can now confirm they definately are, I took appar...

It can't be a live feed, because it'll then be running when the ignition is off, hence why I need an ignition feed.

i'm pretty sure there arn't any decent IG live feeds you might have to run a new one to be sure.

Re: AEM or Power FC stand-alone

On a Rev3, you don't need additional sensors unless you're going to run more than 26psi or so. The sensors come to about £100-130. We've discussed this before (also been done to death on other forums too), but you get what you pay for with a MoTeC. The quality of the electronics is better than the ...
