About I month ago my alternator failed so I had to replace it, it was a nightmare to get it out of the engine bay, in the end i removed the bracket which holds the alternator and then it came out easily. Mine is a rev 2 Gltd n/a if this helps. Anyway good luck with refitting the alternator back into...

Also how do i lower the subframe would i have to undo a couple of the engine mounts aswell?

Cheers Peter, that was helpful. I have unattached the alternator now and am having a real problem trying to get it out from the car. I have tried to get it out from the bottom from both sides of the middle of the rear subframe and just can't get it out any help from anyone??

Where to buy car batteries online?
Does anyone know a good place to buy car batteries online? And what type of battery would I need for a rev2 n/a not really powering anything other than standard but still want a decent battery which will last a while.

Rev1 alternator same as rev2 alternator?
I am pretty sure my alternator has failed as the battery is just dying. My question is I have a import rev2 n/a (which the alternator has failed on) but have a rev1 uk spec n/a in my garden, will the rev1 alt fit into my car?

Don't quote me on this I might be wrong. Yes you change it from the bottom. There is one long bolt at the bottom of the alternator which you take out and another one which you can undo from the top of the car which adjusts the tension of the alt as it screws into the alt along a slider to sdjust tig...

Help with cambelt change
I am doing a cambelt change on a MR2 mkII and can't get the crankshaft pully off. I need to undo the bolt and pull the pully off.
Is there a special tool i can buy for this or any other way?

Parts for cambelt change?
Im looking to change my cambelt on a UK rev1 n/a. I was wondering if I would be better off getting parts from somewhere like fensport or should i just get these original parts from Toyota? Its just the cambelt and tensioners.

3S-GTE & 3S-GE Cambelt change?
I need to do a cambelt change on my UK rev1 3S-GE engine and was wondering how similar it would be to the 3S-GTE because I am about to read the BGB manual for changing a timing belt. Any help would be appreciated. Is it quite similar as I think, or is it very different??

I've had a look at the knowledge base articles but can't seem to find anything on how to change the cambelt. Is there a guide anywhere for this as I would like to do it this weekend, the car is a '92 UK n/a.

I've just done a oil and filter change for winter and put in fully synth 5w40 into my mkII n/a.
