Suspension replacement
Right, its time to change the suspension set up on my 2. The shocks at the front are dead and i'm getting horrible bouncing and the understeer is getting worse too. I don't have an awful lot of cash to spend so the choices are, a) to replace the ones i've got with a direct OEM set or b) to go for a ...

Aircon cover
Has anyone heard of devising a cover for the aircon controls on the mk2 so that they blend with the dash rather than the very tacky bttons and slide that are visible?

Re: Dashboard re-vamp
Whole day it is then. Will gather the bits and get cracking. Presume you have to take the steering wheel off to get at the dash? Will have some 110mph Lockwood reverse glo dials if anyone wants them?!

Dashboard re-vamp
I'm looking to 'modernise' the interior of my mk2. I have ordered the dash styling kit in brushed aluminium and thinking of getting the speedhut dial kit to match the headunit along with changing interior bulbs to blue to match all round. How easy is it to take the dash apart to do all this and how ...

Custom interior styling with painted fibreglass
I am thinking about modifying the interior of my tubby using mouldable fibreglass and a trick paint job. Has anyone had any experience of doing this or could point me towards a useful website. The effects achieved by the likes of Alpine and Blaupunkt on their show cars is what i am looking at copyin...

Re: De-cat help, how much
Cheers for your input guys. Spoke to one garage who said they would get it up on the ramps and have a look for free before they started any work and quote accordingly. Pretty good i'd say.

Re: De-cat help, how much
I've phoned around a few garages and they reckon about a 2 hour job depending on how rusty the bolts are. Looked at the TB Development downpipe for £195. So total cost should be £300 ish [-o<

De-cat help, how much
I am thinking of getting a de-cat pipe for my tubby. I need to know a few things first as i am not exactly a mechanic. a) if i get one from ebay how much should i be looking to pay to get it fitted? b) my exhaust is already pretty loud as its an aftermarket one (not sure of make) so how can i tell b...

99 RON Fuel
I have recently noticed that tesco are selling super unleaded with a 99 RON. This would make it a higher octane fuel than Optimax at 98.4RON and cheaper. Any ideas if this fuel is actually better, or would it be not as high quality despite the high octane??

De-cat and MOT pass/fail.
Can anybody tell me what the official line is regarding de-cat and downpipe on MOT pass/fail. Would like to have the power gain, sound benefit plus turbo spool but don't want to have to put it back in come MOT time?

Re: Not the best weekend for this MR2...
Well, it >£1400 for the repairs plus replacement stereo just for the theft damage. Third party work was estimated at £2k but that would have been separate. Not quite sure why they haven't written it off?

Re: Not the best weekend for this MR2...
Not sure, its the complete ignition barrel and underside of the dash, stereo and cd multichanger plus passenger door lock and handle. The real problem comes with the fact that both claims, the theft and the third party damage, coincide with damage to the passenger door. Guess i will have to see what...
