I wonder if there's a sticky caliper or pad - it'll get very hot, and can then boil the fluid in that one caliper = soft pedal, funny smell and no brakes.

We get our lines made by Earls, Goodridge used to be their UK dealer but Earls then set up properly in the UK for themselves.
