Re: [Mk2] [Turbo] Which EBC pads?
We've had good results with EBC Reds, but with that much power Yellows are a good bet. DS2500's are the next step up if you have one of our kits, in fact they are on one customer's car who just won both of his first races of the season (Starlet Turbo), and that's a road/trackday pad that's good from...

Re: Ditch finders!
Worth bearing in mind that: - OLD tyres go hard, and lose heaps of grip as a result. Sometimes if they have been unused the surface will recover after a bit of wear. - NEW tyres will have both mold release agent and the small rubber "hairs", both of these will wear off. ....of course, it's...

We use the correct fitting, but obviously the caliper end is "WMS" not Toyota:

Re: changing to braided brake lines what tools do i need?
Do some aftermarket rear lines not have the fitting with the two bolts on the end of the line? It's a pain that Toyota did that as it makes rear lines expensive, but if they are excluded you'll fatigue through the rear hard lines at some point! What was wrong with the way the fronts work Mr ...

Right, I've got some projected prices on the proposed new kits: Front 4P088 323x30mm (Supra disc/T20 caliper) kit = £505.73+vat (or £428.21+vat exc discs) 4P089 323x30mm (Supra disc/T30x caliper) kit = £612.20+vat (or £532.68+vat exc discs) Rear BB002 323x24mm (RX8 disc/retain OEM Rev2 caliper) big ...

Keri, Your brake upgrade looks very intersting but I have a few questions. I'm no expert in this area so I'm just asking because I would like to know the answers - I need to change my front brakes anyway (pads worn and one of the discs is warped) so now seems a good time to consider an upgrade. I l...

We're looking at kits to use the 324mm Supra discs as used in some BBK big disc kits...these will need 17" wheels in most cases. Here are some sneak peeks: 296x28mm current T20 caliper kit (4P065) for comparison: http://i279.photobucket.com/albums/kk159/keri-wms/4P065/WMS-800x600-4P0651-c.jpg 3...

Re: alternator pivot bolt siezed
Just got my bolt out at last today....it was such a sod the bolt head is at a funny angle and the bolt has twisted a few rotations along the way (ie sctatches on the bolt go from straight, to a helix!). It took: - Breaker bar with 6-side impact socket - 30sec of blowtorch results in 10sec of time wh...

- F+R SW20 hubs
- 323mm RX8 discs (rear)
- Rev 2 OEM calipers (rear)
- 323mm Supra discs (front)
- WMS 4 pot calipers (front)
The pistons in the calipers are the correct size to keep the correct front > rear bias.

Re: Need Advice, experience & recommendations on Big Brake Kit
I'm waiting to hear back from Keri about their kit but on initial looking it's a bit on the small side compared to what I've been looking at. I know this doesn't necessarily mean it wouldn't do the job to the standard I'm after though. So I'm looking forward to Hearing back :) I'm just in the proce...

Re: Need Advice, experience & recommendations on Big Brake Kit
There is only one kit available for the sw20 that has been properly developed to be balanced and that's the tarrox kit. *cough*! We don't have a rear handbrake kit as yet (race only for the rear kit), but have worked it so that our front upgrades keep the front / rear balance spot on.....two versio...

Re: [Mk2] [NA] removing mk2 alternator, the easy way.
Cheers Paul - looking at some photos I found I can see that there's no chance of getting the bracket off the block before the alternator anyway, the alternator covers several of the bracket>block bolts! I'm thinking blowtorch on the alternator/bracket to expand them off the bolt, and more of the bru...

Thread revival!!! :oldtongue: Erm, if the bottom alternator bolt is turning but not undoing (on Rev1 3SFE... :? ...), can you undo the bolts to the bracket with the alternator still on it? Or is it easier to use explosives? Over to Paul! (I could use a carbide burr and die grinder to turn ...
