Lewis Jay, What a Guy!
I have nothing but praise for Lewis, I have been struggling to remove the siezed pivot bolt from my alternator so gave him a call. He turned up at my house and had the bolt, bracket and alternator out of the car in an hour! Nice guy, knows his stuff on mr2's and is a hero at removing stubbon bolts! ...

Re: [Mk2] [NA] How To Remove Alternator?
I've managed to move the alternator slight hitting it with a hammer and my breaker bar, enough so that I have now removed the belt. I've tried a shedload of heat and the 14mm Bolt Grips and the 13mm bolt grips, neither of these can get enough purchase to shift the damn thing. I'm giving up at this p...

It's an N/A, does that mean I can remove the entire alternator bracket assembly without taking the alternator off the bracket? If so where are the bolts?
I've unbolted the suspension to get more access on the drivers side.

Re: Goldy's MK2 Flappy Paddle Gearbox Build
I'm not sure if it's of any interest any more, but I found another Toyota steering wheel with shift buttons (i.e. not paddles). MK2 Aristo has a similar setup to the VVTi Supra: Image Replaced With URL For Quote http://i254.photobucket.com/albums/hh106/Big_Pete1985/Ace%20Cafe%20Oct%202010/DSC_0065....

Re: Goldy's MK2 Flappy Paddle Gearbox Build
All you need now is some sorta gear indicator... I'm sure you'll knock that up in a jiffy The plan is to add a rotary switch A-La ferrari style to switch between flaps off, road and race modes and to add a little 7 segment display to tell you what gear you're in. I've ordered the parts but it needs...

Sounds like an air lock, did you drain the air from the top of the heater matrix using the plastic tubes?

[Mk2] [NA] Smoke From Foglight Switch :-S
I've been having a look at the foglight wiring as I couldn't seem to get either the front or rear foglights on. After a bit of fettling I found that the wiring connector for the foglight was not plugged into the switch. I also noticed some of the insulation on the black and white wire was a bit melt...

Re: Goldy's MK2 Flappy Paddle Gearbox Build
Having had the flaps in the car for a week or two, they are wholy unworkable in their current state, the microswitches have far to much play, they feel to flimsy and the flaps stick out too much and catch your hands, i'm thinking about an alternative diy solution but for the moment i've ordered some...
