REV3 Auto *Price Dropped*

The Car : Regrettably for sale my 1993, L Reg Revision 3 Automatic MR2 Mk2 in 3E5 Super Red 2. The car is a great runner and drives very well with no nasty clunking. The paintwork is a little tired but the body is solid no signs of rusting sills that I can see. Flew through MOT 1st time with two min...

Re: Goldy's MK2 Flappy Paddle Gearbox Build

Just weighing up the options, whether a modified or unmodified car is more likely to sell?

Whatever happens the car has to go, looking at getting a 4 door civic or corrolla to ferry the new baby around in #-o

Not sure whether to take the kit off and sell the car via autotrader to be honest. :-k

Re: Did toyota ever make. ..

I'm quite fancying trying to get flappy paddles working with one of the newer 5 or 6 speed boxes off the avensis / rav4, I think it could be pretty entertaining in an mr2  The Caldina boxes have flappy paddles as standard - okay they don't change gear in DSG times, but it does do what you ...

Re: I GIVE UP!

the very top layer of paint is oxidised; you cannot wax and hope the finish stays. you need to get rid of the top layer so compounding (G3/3m Fast cut/Tcut etc) has to be done first; the finish after this step should be spot on. then you want to use a polish with some fillers in; then seal that wit...

Thanks matey, it gets a good shine, but when you look up close, the red isn't very deep, it's not a solid red, especially on the roof its sort of flat and 1 dimensional and a little bit orange rather than being shiney deep solid red.

Today I have replaced all of the dash, centre tunnel, plastic trim parts and carpets with some nearly new parts kindly donated by Paul Woods :thumleft: The old stuff was mostly cracked, painted silver quite badly and had holes in it all over the place. Re: I GIVE UP!

Well the bit I did last week is starting to fade along the top edge again despite waxing, anyone got any suggestions to seal the paintwork to prevent oxidation, i'm not really rating the zymol wax?

Cat and Fiddle - Ruined!

Went up there at the weekend and they've put up average speed cameras along the whole road and made it a 50. In my opinion they've completely ruined that road, its more like driving through motorway roadworks watching your speedo the whole time rather than the lovely country road it was, you can't e...

Re: I GIVE UP!

I'm thinking to go for something a bit harsher to start with such as Rubbing Compound or G3 and work up to TCut and then wax.

We'll see this weekend what happens... at least there's no danger of cutting through the paint as it's got at least two if not 3 coats of red under there
