Vista Media Server

Post by un1eash »

I'm pretty sure this applys to both PS3 and 360 users. Ive been trying to set up my computer as a media server using vista and WM11 but my PS3 just wont detect it.

The media server comes up in my network folder on vista but everytime i go into WM11 i get the error message.....

"Media sharing is currently disabled, either because the sharing service is not running or your firewall settings have changed. To restart sharing, you must first confirm your sharing settings."

Anyone been able to set up a media server with vista?

Probably...works perfectly with the 360...

Did you go into WMP11 -> Library -> Media Sharing and then click on "Allow" to the PS3/360?

After that you need to put all the files you want to share in your Shared folder....in either Shared Video, Shared Music or Shared Pictures...should work fine then....

Although thats only for 360....if its similar you might find that useful....
