Rays/VOLK Duralumin racing quality wheelnuts....

Post by nightSpirit »

Back by request, just completed the first group buy of these with the last sets going in the post today :) A few people missed out last time...

They retail at £97 most places or approx £85 on Ebay (from HongKong).

The sets work out at £71 shipped to your door. Time from order placed till delivery is around 3-4 weeks.

For anyone who doesn't know, these nuts are ultra lightweight and ultra strong machined items. They weigh nothing, sat in the palm of your hand you can barely feel they're there. Complete set of 20 for 4/5 stud cars with full set of 7 sided hex bolt lockers and key.

In blue, black or red...please add your name and colour you require available for most cars/models.

Hi, i recieved my nuts on saturday but they don't fit my wheels. :(
It puzzles me cos the wheels are made by Rays Engineering too!
The nuts just won't pass through the holes in the wheel-they are too big. My existing nuts are a 17mm socket and i notice the Rays nuts take a 19mm socket.
Do you have any ideas, otherwise i may sell them on? Idon't really want to though cos they look stunning.

Oh cack,

That sounds rubbish :( They fit my TE37s...they are the right thread pattern for the hub aren't they?

Worse case scenario would be sell them on I think, what colour did you get again as I may know someone wanting them :)

I had the red ones. I had the same problem when i bought McGard locking nuts a few years ago, but this time i thought Rays nuts-Rays wheels, no problem.
Haven't tried them just on the hub yet. Will try that tomorrow.
Not sure what type of Rays wheels they are but i thinkl they were on the car when it was imported in '99.

Right, took the wheel off and tried the nuts on the hub. The thread is correct and the taper looks the same as my existing nuts.
I've found out the wheels are Volk Racing CV Pro's, the date on the label on the inside of the wheel is 1996.
The nuts are only slightly too big at the collar between the taper and the actual hex part of the nut. I did consider getting them machined down but then realised the socket for the locking nuts will never be able to pass through the holes in the wheel.

You'll have to measure the diameter of the holes for the nuts on one of your rims...to make sure :)

What size thread are the wheel nuts, could somebody confirm they are the 1.5mm ones.

Note: M12 x 1.5mm application: Fits Honda, Acura, Toyota, Lexus, Mazda, Mitsubishi etc.

Note: M12 x 1.25mm application: Fits Subaru, Nissan, etc.

Thanks

Mark :)

So far jr you're the only one in with another set, so I may have to make up the numbers again to get the discounts :( see if we get any more interest ;)

How many people do you need for another group buy?

You can stick me down for 2 sets in red 1.5mm.
