SEIBON OEM Carbon Bonnet for MR2 - Group Buy

After seeing a fellow MR2 owner buy a Seibon Carbon Bonnet on the OC i set about looking to set up a group buy as the quality of them looks amazing for the price.

The company that supplies them is MadMotors. The RRP on these bonnets is around £450. I sent an email to Rob inquiring about the OEM carbon bonnets and he quoted the following prices. .

6 Orders placed . . . £350
10 Orders placed . . . £325

I think these prices are very good for a quality OEM Carbon Fiber bonnet for the MR2. Fitment and quality wise they are spot on.

The shipping would be £15 per bonnet. With regards to shipping. Any orders placed before the 14th or the month arrive at the end of the following month (6 Weeks) as they are shipped from abroad via boat to keep the costs down.

Thanks to Rich for letting me use the picturess he took of his bonnet once fitted. (Please note headlight covers do not come with it!!)

At the moment im just gathering interest and seeing if people would be up for this. Once and IF i get enough interest it may go ahead.

I can sort that out, fitment around the standard headlight covers was very good, so please bear in mind I have carbon covers that have not been fully aligned if i show em in the photos

what you really need to show the quality of fitment is with standard headlight covers ligned up correctly

Fit looks better than a lot of the ones I've seen, any ideas on the weight of these please?

I know its not much to go by but it took 2 people to move around the standard bonnet. I could carry the Seibon one on my own with one hand.

nice one paul, 3 more people and its down to £350. Well i know someone on ultrajap wants one so 2 more.

The lights covers are from the U.S. Ill find the link for you when i get a chance.

I have a Seibon bonnet on my car at the moment; it is certainly very light compared to the standard item.
I would describe the fit as fairly good but not 100% like the standard steel one, as it’s so light it has some flex in it. I plan to get bonnet pins for mine to correct it where it sits high on both sides above the lights (as if pushed down it pulls to a perfect shape). I might have got a slightly worse than average one as a friend has one that is near perfect.
Hopefully this picture shows what I am talking about.

I would still recommend them and it’s a good price but I know how fussy some people are about their mr2s.
